Born in Southern California in the mid-1960's, Amber Lynn's childhood was filled with difficult trials for her to overcome at an early age. While she was still young, her parents divorced when she was 3 years old, and as a result of the divorce, Amber was placed in foster care until she was 8 years old. She was reunited with her mother after Amber was removed from her foster home, but the reunion was brief. Amber and her mother were in a car accident, and while Amber had suffered some severe injuries, her mother did not survive the accident. Amber was sent to live with her father and stepmother, but soon, her father passed away as well, leaving her in the care of her stepmother and her brothers.

However, these tragedies didn't stop Amber from dreaming of becoming rich and famous one day. She started modeling in bathing suit advertisements and participated in hot body contests as a teenager, and she eventually started making rounds in the Los Angeles club scene. It was in L.A. that she met Althea Flynt, the wife of Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, and soon, Amber was in high demand and was being photographed for not only Hustler, but for Penthouse, High Society, and Club magazines, to name a few.

In 1984, Amber got her start in the adult film industry, and she quickly become one of the most famous female performers in the decade. After only 5 years in adult films, Amber decided to retire from making movies so she could focus on working the dance circuits, where she earned more money. While she found great success while dancing for live audiences, the dance circuit had become oversaturated with porn stars who also wanted to dance, so Amber made a brief return to adult films with a few movies, such as Where The Boys Aren't 6 and Babe Watch 3.

Amber began to have some personal troubles in her life, but once those were resolved, she made a huge comeback in 2008 with some of the biggest names in the adult film industry.
