Born 23 years ago in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Jasmin was raised in New York, London, France and California, where she is currently attending UCLA. Majoring in foreign languages, she plans someday to teach. But that is not today. While she lists snorkeling, concerts, collecting vintage dolls, rollerblading and reading French existentialism as her hobbies, it is her work on stage that draws much more interest. She can call on a repertoire of over 50 different Las Vegas-style highly choreographed shows when the lights dim and the pounding music starts. Some of these shows are very hot-literally, because she uses fire during the performance, for which she had to get licensed. She has spent over $50,000 in costumes during her on-stage career, which has taken her from the U.S. to Canada, Hawaii, Guam, France and down under to Australia. Beginning as a dancer for Pure Platinum, she became a feature act with Charlie Frey of Showtime Talent, of whom she speaks very highly. One of her biggest assets is how well she works with the media. Having appeared in national radio and television shows-including The Jerry Springer Show, the Charles Perez Show, and the Howard Stern Show (twice), she doesn't think twice about working at her show until 4 a.m. and then showing up at 6 a.m. to do a local radio show and then be back for a noon stage show. Unlike some other major acts she is very friendly with her fans, whom she says are very important to her (men and women both) because she understands the she'd have no career without them and often goes out of the way to talk and mingle with them during her appearances. While stunning in person, she doesn't display the "star mentality" of other acts. To keep up her grueling schedule, this college graduate works out 2 - 2 1/2 hours a day in the gym with her personal trainer and adheres to a strict low-fat diet. Her favorite hobby -rollerblading - helps her to keep that shape. She can often be seen on her blades on the boardwalks in Southern California.
