Andrews grew up in Milwaukee and has described herself as being "a total punk rocker... [with] hot pink hair in a very tall Mohawk." She worked in a Milwaukee beauty supply company before starting her career as an exotic dancer.

She began doing photo shoots for men's magazines and began her career in adult film, after meeting Jenna Jameson, in 1995, during a photo shoot for Hustler magazine, in Jamaica. She starred in her first film, Internal Affairs, in 1997, for which she was nominated for an AVN award. In December 2003, Brittany Andrews was appointed to the Women In Adult (WIA) Board of Directors as the Talent Liaison. In addition to adult film she hosts several cable TV shows, including Playboy TV and Talking Blue, which she co-produces, and running her own film production company, Britco Pictures, in downtown Los Angeles, California. She is also actively involved in multiple adult websites and companies, 22 different sites as of October 2005. At her Britco Pictures studio Andrews starred in, directed and produced pornographic movies such as her strap-on movies like Brittany's Bitch Boys and Lesbians in Lust. The location was also available to be booked by production companies for other shoots such as music videos, TV episodes and porn movies such as Article 15 by VCA.

Andrew's also knows the importance of charity. An example of her charity work is the Content for Charity shoot in which she got a group of fellow pornstars together with Porno Dan to raise money for the families of two adult actresses who have had their careers cut short by tragic circumstances. This event was attended by Angelica Sin, Kayla Quinn, Lori Pleasure and Lorraine Sisco aka Tall Goddess.

Andrews was well-known for her love of feet and foot fetish, owning and operating a foot-fetish website: Exquisite Feet. She was friends with Ed Fox and appeared in his photographic book Ed Fox: Glamour from the Ground Up published by Taschen. As well as feet Andrews was also known for being a dominatrix and in 2006 launched her Financial Domination website Pay Miss Brittany. In 2007, Andrews was featured on an episode of The Tyra Banks Show where she discussed webcam girls.
