PornstarEmpire.com: We haven't talked with you in a few years and thought it might be a good time to reintroduce yourself...can you briefly remind us how you got started in adult and how you got signed up with Digital Playground?

Jesse Jane: I've been in the business for a little over three years. I started with Digital Playground. I used to be a Hawaiian Tropics model and a Hooters girl, and I decided that I wanted to be in porn, so I actually contacted Digital Playground and they flew me out and signed me immediately. Since then its been crazy and fun, and I'm still with Digital Playground and with Playboy...its been a crazy ride.

Q: Looking back, is there anything about being in the industry that is different than you thought it would be like when you started, positive or negative?

Jesse Jane: It's positive...there were a lot of things that were unexpected. There's a lot of different business aspects - more than anybody would assume. I've learned that as I go on in this business that for me personally it's positive...Digital Playground has treated me fairly.

Q: Last year saw the release of Pirates, which became one of the best-sellers of all-time on DVD, and probably introduced you to a whole new generation of fans...have you found yourself getting recognized a lot more in public since Pirates came out?

Jesse Jane: Definitely. That movie was such a phenomenon...it was a crazy success. Everybody in Pirates was pushed to a whole new level...the ship, the quality, the high definition, the special effects. It was just a fun movie.

Q: As far as what you've done on camera, is there anything you'd like to do that you haven't yet? Any specific fantasies?

Jesse Jane: I did a schoolgirl kind of fetish in Jesse Jane: All-American Girl, but I actually want to do a fetish where I can act like I'm in high school and have a teacher molest me... "I'll help you get an 'A'!" I'd rip off my little schoolgirl skirt and panties, get thrown up on the desk, get spanked with a ruler...I'd like to do that!

Q: Are there any performers out there that you'd really like to work with that you haven't had the chance to?

Jesse Jane: I get to pick my talent, so it's really cool for me, but there's a lot of performers that are contracted with other companies that I'd love to work with...Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks...there's a lot of them. I want to work with all the contract girls!

Q: Do you find it harder and harder to go out to public places and maintain a sense of privacy?

Jesse Jane: It really is. With Pirates and with Playboy - now that I have two shows on Playboy [Television] too, it's really hard. We can't go to the airport anymore without security. We can't have a private dinner. But I like that...I think it's really cool. For that many people to recognize you because of Pirates and stuff...it's a really cool thing. But yes, it really is hard now.

Q: What kinds of things do you enjoy doing in your free time? Hobbies/Interests?

Jesse Jane: I like to dance, travel and meet new people. I love watching sports. I like to play soccer. I love going to a park and playing football, and drinking beer and eating pizza! And having sex out in places where your not supposed to have it! It's like "Oooh...do you think we'll get caught here?" I just like to have fun...I'm pretty much a laidback girl.

Q: What can fans expect to see from you in the coming year? Movies?

Jesse Jane: We're about to shoot Island Fever 4 in the next month, and we're going back to Tahiti and Bora Bora to shoot that. I did a couple of Jack's Playgrounds...but I'm not sure of the numbers, and a Teen America. I'm going to shoot a movie soon, I just don't know what it's called. Plus, Jesse Jane: Sexual Freak is going to be released soon.

Q: What's going on with your website [www.jessejane.com]...can you tell us a little about it and what fans can expect to find there?

Jesse Jane: There's a lot of video clips and there's a lot of pictures. I keep an updated diary, and I try to sign my guest book when people write in and e-mail me. And we're going to have a lot more now...I'm going to send in personal video clips instead of all the clips from movies and stuff. We're going to have new pictures and video clips every single week now. I actually just got new equipment and I'm going to learn how to do it myself.

Q: Have you made any long-term plans for how long you'd like to keep performing, and whether you want to stay within the industry in some capacity or move onto other things?

Jesse Jane: I have two more years on my contract with Digital, and I want to keep going. As long as I keep in shape, I want to keep performing as long as I can. I want to give it a good four years...maybe five years. And then I want to step to the business side. I want to make my own product and distribute it throughout the world. I want to write a book...I've been writing a journal of things that happen in my life. I definitely want to stay in the business - whether it's performing or doing my own thing.

Jesse Jane: Good, how are you?

Q: I'm doing very well. You started off in this business about a year ago, is that right?

Jesse Jane: Exactly one year. This is my anniversary.

Q: Tell us what's been going on in the past year.

Jesse Jane: Well, I've actually shot some movies...so I have movies out. I shot five movies - I have a Virtual Sex (DVD) as well. I've been doing magazine shoots...just been having a good time, trying to build up my name.

Q: This is your second year here at the Expo, and your first year doing adult material. But didn't you do a lot of adult-oriented - but not hardcore - stuff before then?

Jesse Jane: Well, I've done Baywatch. I've done Hawaiian Tropics - which is bikini modeling. I've done Hooters. Just stuff like that, but adult is so much better!

Q: One of the first videos that you did was with Devon. Tell us about it and your scene in that movie.

Jesse Jane: It was an office scene with Jessica Drake, which was my first scene ever. I really didn't speak or anything. Devon walked in and Jessica plays a girl that she meets later (in the movie) and finds out is evil. And I'm just getting it on in the office (with Jessica) on top of the desk. We start making out and, of course, have sex. We use dildos, eat each other's pussies, and stuff like that. But I didn't get to work with Devon...yet!

Q: What was it like performing on camera for the first time?

Jesse Jane: It was really easy. I wasn't nervous. I had two camera crews there. The camera crew from Family Business (Seymore Butts' Showtime series) and the (regular) camera crew. And it was fine - because I've been with girls previously, so I wasn't nervous about the girl/girl scene.

Q: What about your first male/female scene?

Jesse Jane: My first male/female scene I actually was nervous because the guy I was originally supposed to work with called off because he was sick...that was Julian. So I had to work with Mark Davis, and I didn't know who that was at the time...so it was like in ten minutes I was going to have sex with a guy and I don't even know who it is! So I was like "Oh my god!" and I started freaking out. I wasn't nervous at first, and then I was really, really nervous! But it ended up being great...I love Mark Davis!

Q: So were you nervous about it being on camera or that it was with a guy you just met?

Jesse Jane: Nervous because it was a guy I just met. For some odd reason, I don't even think the cameras are there, I just go with the flow. It doesn't bother me...it doesn't intimidate me. So I was nervous because I didn't know who the guy was...I was like "Oh, hi! Ready to bang?!"

Q: As far as what you're willing to do on camera, do you have any limitations right now?

Jesse Jane: I don't do anal, and I won't for a while. But other than that, I'm game for anything. No gangbangs, either. I don't do gangbangs!

Q: Did you ever do anal in your private life?

Jesse Jane: I've tried it - didn't like it, wasn't a fan of it - so I'm going to have to work my way into liking it.

Q: Do you prefer to do features with acting, or do you like just doing the sex?

Jesse Jane: Well, of course sex is my favorite! But I do love doing features. They're fun and it's an experience because in a way you're experiencing the mainstream side. (It helps) If you're ever interested in trying to cross over or just mix with both. It's fun - you get to play somebody else and get into a whole new character, which kind of puts you in the mood for sex - "Oh, I'm not myself...I'm so and so". It's a turn-on, but I do like the sex more.

Q: You seem a lot more confident that you were just a year ago. Has the industry changed your attitude or your lifestyle at all?

Jesse Jane: It really has. Obviously, I had sex before (joining the industry) and was very confident - but now I'm even more comfortable. People come up to me now and they're like "You're Jesse Jane. I watch your tapes! You're a great performer!" It kind of boosts your confidence...it turns me on that people watch my videos and get turned on by them. It's a big turn-on for me, and I'm just a different person now.

Q: Did you have a favorite porn actress coming in the industry? Did you watch porn in the past?

Jesse Jane: Jenna Jameson is actually one of my role models. She's amazing. Not just because she's a good performer and beautiful, but she's smart. She presents herself well, she's doing her own website and her own business now. It's brilliant and it gives a brighter side when people actually look at porn. If you look at what she's accomplished, you get a little more respect from some people who just kind of "dog" on porn videos.

Q: Are you looking to make more mainstream appearances?

Jesse Jane: Yes, I'm going to go on The Howard Stern Show this year...I'm not sure when. I've been on Playboy TV. I have a movie coming out...Starsky & Hutch - I have a part in it. And I've had a lot of offers from TV shows - just what Digital Playground would like me to do to keep me in a good light.

Q: How did you get the name "Jesse Jane"?

Jesse Jane: We were playing around with it. We knew we needed to pick a "fun" name. Something cute and not overly sexy. And they were like "What about Jesse?" And I was playing around with it like "Bond, James Bond" and I said "Jane, Jesse Jane". So it just stuck.

Q: A lot of people have said that you look like Angelina Jolie.

Jesse Jane: Yes, I get Angelina Jolie and Mena Suvari a lot. I'm flattered, because Angelina Jolie - I love her...she's absolutely my favorite! So I'm flattered!

Q: What do you do for fun? If some guy were lucky enough to take you on a date - what would you do?

Jesse Jane: I like to go dancing. He can take me anywhere, really. I'm a tomboy kind of girl, so we could go to a sporting event - I love sports or anything outdoors. I could pretty much do anything and have fun. I adapt to anything...I can have fun doing whatever. Even going to watch a movie - something simple like that. But I love to dance. That's one of my favorite things to do.
