C.J. Laing's Porn Star Biography

Porn star C.J. Laing was born in New York, but her first job in the adult business occurred in San Francisco in 1974 when she was just 18 years old. She made her adult debut in a series of "loops" (short 10-15 minute films) made by the Mitchell Brothers. After returning to her native New York, she appeared in a number of full length adult features starting in 1975.

Porn Career

Porn Star C.J. Laing was one of the most exciting female faces in early hardcore. Short-haired blonde with a little figure, she had a real down-to-earth aura about her, coming across as an approachable young fun-lover who just happened to be earning money doing what came naturally. She starred in over 50 features and loops during the 1970's, making a name for herself as a white-hot seductress during porn's early days. She was often cast in victim roles such as in Sex Wish (1976) and The Taking of Christina (1975). And she played the perpetually neglected young housewife Nora Pelham in Anyone But My Husband (1975). Her sex scenes tended to be raw, intense and kinky. They often involved such extreme carnal acts as anal penetration, bondage, fisting, and peeing.

Laing also shimmered with erotic intensity in the 1975 porn film Too Hot to Handle as a swinging wife who picks up men on the streets of Times Square. One of her wildest features is 1977's Teenage Pajama Party, where she takes part in a heated interracial three-way before taking on another huge black stud in a backdoor scorcher. C.J. Laing was a decent actress for porn standards; however she insisted that "I purposely would not act. I despised the people in these films that said they were actors. I was like, "You've got to be kidding me! This is about fucking and sucking!" Nevertheless she turned in some fine performances in a Golden Age era in which storytelling often rated of equal importance as lust.

Life After Porn

C.J. Laing left the business in 1979, making over 50 original full length movies and loops. In the late 1970s, she returned to San Francisco to perform in live shows at the Mitchell Brothers' O'Farrell Theatre and several other San Francisco area strip clubs also owned by the brothers. Rumors of her death surfaced in the mid 90s but in reality she is alive and well living it up in the San Francisco Bay area.

2005 inductee to the AVN Hall of Fame

C.J. Laing was inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organization Hall of Fame as a "Film Pioneer." In 2005, she was also inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame as "one of the most exciting stars of the Golden Age of porn" and as "an energetic performer who turned in some of the strongest performances of her time."
