Meghan Chavalier (born March 22, 1969 in Hurley, Wisconsin) is the stage name of an American pornigraphic actress, author and singer. Her earliest stage name was Meghan Crawford, but she later changed the last name to Chavalier, inspired by Maurice Chevelier.
Chavalier grew up in Hurley, Wisconsin. After graduation she moved to San Antonio, Texas and then Albuquerque, New Mexico. Meghan was an entertainer in New Orleans, Louisiana, before moving to Hollywood, California in 1995.
She has starred in over 175 adult films and also independent feature films including TV Cowboy. Meghan has been featured on the cover of many transgender magazines including Girl Talk, Transformation, Transformed, Transformation Catalogs, Body Language, and TV Epic, and was also the first transsexual to appear on the cover of AVN Magazine. Chavalier was the first transsexual contract performer when she signed with Devils Film in 1998. Chavalier left the adult film industry in 2001 to focus on books and music.
In July 2008, Chavalier founded a new organization called Stopping The Hate A Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Human Rights Coalition to bring awareness to Hate Crimes in the LGBT Community. On January 9, 2009 Chavalier was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Tranny Awards given by Grooby Productions for her work in film, music, books and activism.
As documented in her autobiography "Confessions of a Transsexual Porn Star," Meghan Chavalier has been estranged from her father for 22 years. She also documents a long term battle with bi-polar disorder which went untreated for many years, but is now under control with medication.
