I don't get the opportunity to watch as many Sin City's adult features as I used to, but occasionally a box cover will catch my eye, and I'll be anxious to take a look. Such was the case with D. Cypher's
Hookers which has the beautiful Hannah Harper on the cover and the premise of her getting involved in the world of prostitution as part of the plot. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Well, unfortunately Sin City has only put out an average movie, at best.
The biggest problem with
Hookers isn't the sex. In fact, most of it is filmed quite nicely (and the anamorphically enhanced picture helps in the enjoyment). The problem is that it looks like maybe a day (if that) was spent on the storyline for the movie. Almost all of it is told in voiceover by Hannah, and is merely little more that a way to introduce each sexual segment. That's fine if you're aiming for the gonzo market and the 18 to 35 year-old male, but I'm guessing Sin City was going after the couples' market here, and they totally fail to offer up anything that would remotely interest a female viewer.
The good news is that since the majority of porn watchers are males anyway,
Hookers does do an okay job with the sex, starting with the popular Penny Flame in a scene with Joe Friday (who here looks like Barrett Blade's, older, chubbier brother). After Penny's scene comes a pairing between Cassie Young and Billy Glide in a massage parlor, which ends with her jerking his load onto her tongue.
Hannah has two sex scenes in the movie, the first of which is a lesbian threesome where she joins Alektra Blue and Nevaeh. The girls go at it on a bed, starting with Alektra and Nevaeh licking and fingering Hannah. Later in the scene, the girls take turns using a glass dildo on one another.
Hookers redeems itself (at least a bit) by having two above-average segments to round out the movie. First is a very hot foursome with Harmony Rose and three other guys (one of which is Scott Lyons) in which she takes anal in multiple positions, gets throat-fucked by them, and takes a trio of pop-shots into her mouth at the conclusion.
The final scene begins with brunette Hailey Young sucking on Jenner's cock, but then Hannah joins the action (and Hailey disappears) so she can fuck him and take it up her butt in the reverse cowgirl and doggy position. Hannah's actually pretty naughty in this scene, doing some ass to mouth, and allowing Jenner to throat fuck her at various points. The pop-shot is one into Hannah's mouth, but alas I'm not sure that this nice ending is enough to give the overall movie any more than an "average" rating.
As I noted earlier in the review, Sin City has provided an anamorphically enhanced picture, which they deserve credit for, although viewers should note that the sharpness and overall video quality doesn't nearly match that of some other adult studios. In other words, although the picture is anamoprhic, it's still somewhat "soft" looking. Audio is presented in 2.0 Dolby, and is about run-of-the-mill for an adult title. Finally, the bonus features include a 19-minute behind the scenes featurette; 5 trailers; a pair of slide shows (one glamour, one hardcore); and a cumshot recap.
Perhaps my expectations were too high going in, but I'm afraid I can only put
Hookers in the "rental" category. It's worth checking out once for Hannah's two scenes and a rather nice foursome featuring Harmony Rose, but it's otherwise a forgettable title...and certainly not one you'd want to watch with your significant other, unless they are
really into porn and don't mind the lack of a good storyline.
