If you've ever wondered how porn emerged out of the gutter and into chic, you can give some thanks to Suze Randall, a photographer whose covergirl and high fashion images have graced many a box cover and upper echelon men's magazines over the last twenty years or so. She has used her good name to a popular line of adult titles released on DVD by Pure Play Media, and the results are at least as easy on the eyes as they are hard on the dick. Such is the case with HOUSE OF SIN, an otherwise standard hardcore release which looks great. Like Randall's past titles, the production design here surpasses the actual quality of direction and the uneven performances. Though I've found many maddening technical faults with some of her releases, the beauty of the female talent and the truly hardcore performances have kept me a fan.
Alecktra Blue is our tempting hostess, allowing the viewer to enter (what else?) her HOUSE OF SIN as she introduces each vignette by theme. Though she reads her lines rather stiffly, it's obvious that based on her past work (for example, TROPHY WHORES from Evil Angel) that her true talents lie in fucking and sucking rather than offering soliloquies. However, aside from striking a few hot poses and some masturbation segments, she limits herself to a single scene, namely, a girl-girl finale with dirty blonde Lisa Daniels, who allows herself to dominated by Alecktra in a fetish scenario. In between some shared cunnilingus, mutual dildo application, and some loud, wet kissing (always a plus in my book), Miss Blue spanks and talks dirty to lovely Lisa almost non-stop. Lesbian scenes can often be routine and unimaginative, but this scene kept me involved from beginning to end.
The other scenes involve your typical girl-guy scenarios, none of which are exceptional, but HOUSE does begin with a bang when Tory Lane jump-starts the movie with a threesome. Scott Nails and Toni DeSergio are the lucky stiffs (pun intended) who get to feel Tory's luscious mouth all over their dicks. In return, they pork her in the quim and in the ass, culminating into a DP shot where both guys get their turn in each particular hole. The ass-to-mouth work and dual cumshots are performed well, which isn't surprising given Tory's always-excellent attitude and performance.
By comparison, the next vignette featuring Michelle Maylene is straightforward and predictable. Though she's undoubtedly attractive (though, like almost every girl here, a little too made-up), with fine cock sucking skills on Scott Nails and a sexy, squealing voice which is almost convincing in her orgasmic expressions, the lack of anal sex and weak cumshot to the mouth make the whole affair rather boring.
I was equally unimpressed by the next scene spotlighting a dominating Dragon Lilly, a young Hawaiian woman whose body is marred by tattoos. The sex with Marco Duato (aka Marco Banderas) is vaginal only, and Miss Lilly seems bored by the whole thing, despite the fact that she's supposed to be the one in control. That she partially swallows her partner's ball juice still can't save this throwaway segment.
Much more enjoyable to watch is blonde Cassie Young, who reminds me of a younger and hotter Tabitha Stevens. Though her actions are not that much more extreme than the last two girls (Cassie also forgoes anal entry, but she doesn't shy away from tasting the money shot), her fun-loving attitude and sly smiles certainly make her work far more wank-able. She seems genuinely surprised when Derrick Pierce deposits a second dollop of cum with seconds of his first shot (which, appeared to be pretty weak anyhow), but doesn't take much of either load into her mouth. It's a much better scene than the previous two, but can't make this title rise above average.
Bonus materials on this great looking and good sounding disc include a photo gallery with some behind the scenes images, a blooper reel, mostly composed of Alecktra screwing up her lines which also appears at the end of video immediately before the end credits, and a striptease by Dragon Lilly (which the less said the better). Since the entire video runs less than ninety minutes, audiences may be disappointed by the hardcore quantity. It should be noted that most videos rarely contain more than five scenes, and that much of the running time involves endless extended shots of the same act, typically found in the average gonzo title. Of course, I would have preferred seeing more of this HOUSE OF SIN since two of the scenes left me lukewarm, but Alecktra, Tory and Cassie make this visit fairly satisfying.
