A New Approach To Interactive Sex On DVD... 4.5 out of 5.00 - Film: 5 Extras: 5 Video: 4 Audio: 4 - 4/11/2007
Looks like 2007 might be the year of the Interactive DVD in adult. We've already seen the impressive Interactive Sex With Jenna Haze from Zero Tolerance, and now here comes another quality release: InTERActive. But unlike almost every other interactive release, InTERActive is different - in that it has the viewer participating in a storyline, rather than just jumping right into the sexual action (which there's plenty of, by the way).

The DVD, of course, stars Tera Patrick - but you'll also get to interact sexually with the likes of Jessica Jaymes and Hillary Scott, should you choose to do so during your viewing. The most enjoyable bit of InTERActive, however, may be the fact that Hustler has hired non-sex performer and Robert DeNiro impersonator Sammy Liguori to play Tera's husband in the movie. He's only in a few brief scenes at the beginning and end (should you make it that far), but he's so dead-on in his impersonation that you'll be doing a double-take when you first see his character.

As the movie opens, we discover that it's Tera's birthday - but her husband has no intention of spending it with her, since he has to go to work. So when he leaves, Tera is left behind to wash her car. This is where "you" get to start to manipulate the storyline, beginning with whether you want to help Tera with her "hose problem". Depending on what choice you make here and throughout the movie will determine just how far you get with both Tera and some of her friends. There's no "secret" to getting it on, however...so don't try and second guess yourself - the "horniest" pick is the one that will help you score the most!

If you make poor choices, your movie may end earlier than you want, but assuming you make all the "right" choices, you'll get to go inside for a masturbation scene with Tera; go back outside for a poolside handjob; watch Tera and Jessica Jaymes get into some lesbian action; get a dual blowjob from the girls; watch Tera ride a Sybian, join Hillary Scott in the kitchen for some anal action; and finally get to fuck Tera yourself - ending with your choice of a nice facial blast, a pussy shot or a pop-shot onto Tera's asshole.

Because InTERActive uses DVD technology to make this kind of a "choose your own adventure" storyline, viewers won't get a ton of options when it comes to sexual positions, athough there are multiple angles for most of the sex positions and activities that are in the title (a "multi angle" icon will appear on the top of the screen during such segments). Here's what else you will get: the choice of who goes down on whom during the lesbian session; the choice of girls you want to get a blowjob from (including the "both" option); the choice of "slow", "medium" or "fast" during the Sybian session; the choice of missionary or doggy (both anal) with Hillary; and the choice of missionary, doggy or cowgirl in the final sex session with Tera. You will also get to pick things like what color bikini you want to see Tera put on, what kind of dildo you want her to masturbate with, and what kind of food item you want to see Hillary play with (including spreading on your cock to suck off).

The movie is shown in the full-frame format, although the movie itself is letterboxed - with the interactive selections appearing on the top and bottom of the screen. The audio is clear and well-balanced, although I did note that sometimes (although not often) making a selection or answering a question would throw the synch of the audio/video off for a few seconds.

In addition to the first disc, which contains the interactive movie, Hustler has included a second DVD that is loaded with bonus content - starting with a "hands free" version of the story, should viewers want to see all the sexual fun without having to make choices along the way. It's also a cool way of seeing what you might have missed while playing Disc 1. This feature runs approximately 112 minutes.

Also on Disc 2 are behind the scenes materials, consisting of 4 ½-mintues worth of outtakes; a 8 ½-minute interview with Tera; a 2-minute interview with Jessica Jaymes; a 4-minute interview with Hillary Scott; and 4-minutes worth of behind the scenes footage with Sammy Liguori and Tera. There's also a 7-minute "Silent Movie" version of the story; as well as a movie slide show.

Hustler has also included some bonus footage on this DVD that fans are sure to enjoy. There's a 7 ½-minute solo sex scene featuring Tera using both her fingers and a glass dildo that seems to have been taken from footage made exclusively for her Teravision website. There's also a 3 ½-minute look at a photoshoot session Tera did, as well as an advertisement for her interactive video game. Hillary Scott fans are sure to love (if they don't already own it) a 26-minute foursome scene from the release of Anal Extremes in which Hillary gets anal and double penetration from the likes of John West, Anthony Hardwood and Andrew Andretti. The disc also contains a 17-minute scene between Jessica Jaymes and Tommy Gunn from Jessica's Jet Set.

Finally, Disc Two rounds out with a number of trailers - 6 from Teravision, and 5 more from Hustler.

InTERActive is going to appeal most to fans of Tera Patrick, as well as those who love interactive DVDs, but haven't been satisfied with the "choose the angle/choose the position" format that 99% of virtual adult releases have been giving them. I have to admit I had a lot of fun with this movie, and found myself wishing a lot more adult interactive titles were like this one. InTERActive is the first of what could turn into a whole new genre for adult...let's hope it's not the last attempt at this kind of interactive storytelling.

They did this one right. Very right! The women are superb. The interaction is the best I've seen yet for this type of movie. The only thing that could have been improved upon is the script (I know I'm asking for a lot). But the scenes, especially with two women, could have come on more naturally if the script was improved. But other than that, it was an outstanding movie with some nice choices. And if you are looking for a variety of cumshots, this movie has it. Kudos to this studio for moving these DVDs in the right direction.

As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Interactive DVD movies, InTERActive is by far one of the best! There are many possible situations for you to control, and the addition of a storyline to one of these movies makes it stand out from all the other interactive videos. Tera Patrick is gorgeous, as always, and the other ladies just bring more excitement to the experience. I highly recommend this movie to any fans of interactive DVDs!

We have seen a number of virtual sex DVDs over the year and the good companies have them down to a science. Most of the action is pretty much the same so there are two major factors in play. First you have the girl. Since these are generally one-woman shows, it helps if you're really into the star. The other intangible is the stuff a company puts in to surround the basic POV/Interactive sex. This movie is packed with that peripheral material. There is a whole story here so it's a lot more than just a virtual/POV scene. It reminds me a little bit of those early interactive games we used to play on the PC. (There were even a few movies that offered similar choices.) Tera is joined in this high-concept virtual adventure by Hustler's own Jessica Jaymes and the reigning queen of porn, Hillary Scott. There is a lot to get to, so let's join Tera and her inattentive husband at the breakfast table.

The story is pretty simple. Tera is married to an older man who doesn't pay any attention to her. He leaves her alone and orders her to wash her car on her birthday. That brings us into the story. As her neighbor, we get a birds-eye view of her washing the car in a white T-shirt and booty shorts. I won't give away all of the results of your choices throughout the game, but I can tell that your fist choice is between watching Tera and helping her with her hose. If you choose to watch, you get some great tease, but then find yourself at the "Game Over" screen. So for goodness sake, get out there and help the poor girl.

After you go out to help Tera, she gets her shirt all wet and asks you to follow her inside. We follow her up the stairs, taking in some tease footage that is generally missing from even the best virtual DVDs on the market. Once upstairs, Tera wants to try on her new bikinis. Whichever one you choose, you're to end up watching her change twice. (Women can't decide on anything it seems.) She makes us turn around, allowing the action to be captured in a mirror. Great shot here and it adds even more tease to the mix.

The bikini fashion show leads us to our first big choice of the disc. Join Tera by the pool or leave. It sounds like a simple choice, but if you try to leave, there is a special treat. To entice us to stay, Tera breaks out her toys and puts on a show. This becomes the toy/finger/pussy eating section of the disc. Once you start this it becomes very much like the other virtual discs. She uses a small vibrator or a glass toy on her pussy. Or, you can use them on her yourself. There is also a huge toy on the menu, but choose that gets you shut down really quickly. Apparently Tera is a pillow queen, not a size queen.

When that is done, you end up in the same place you would if you had chosen to go directly to the pool. Tera wants to get a tan and needs lotion rubbed on her body. The choice here is between watching her do it and helping out. Either way she runs out of lotion and has to find something else to rub into her skin. There are TeraVision and Hustler bonus sections as well. The former includes a great bonus solo scene from Tera. Hustler gives us bonus scenes from Hillary and Jessica. That's a lot of bonus stuff on top of a long, fantastic virtual sex adventure.

This has to be the overwhelming favorite for Best Virtual DVD of the year. It is really well put together, easy to use, fun and packed with a lot more sex than we're used to from the genre. Since I've got a bucket of praise, let's get the weaknesses out of the way first. From a strictly virtual sex point of view, this disc isn't as strong as some of the others. There aren't as many options for angle, position or the popular naughty/nice thing. If that sort of thing is what drives your desire to see a virtual disc then you could be disappointed. Beyond that, it's all fantastic. We get much more variety, better tease, a bit of a story and the chance to explore things. Tera looks great, shows up in a number of outfits, teases, and delivers decent sexual energy. Jessica comes in for a veggie scene. This one doesn't exactly set the world on fire, but it's an additional chance to see Tera cum. Hillary pops in and shows why she is so popular. The food tease is cute, but her "only in the A" POV scene really rocks. I love the interactive nature of the movie. I know that it took a lot more work, but I hope that sales will be good enough for Hustler to try something like this again. It's really good. Watch the hands free version sometime and see just how nicely put together this is. InTERActive is a must-own for Tera fans and has enough hot sex to make it a feature pick, a pre-nom, an editor's choice or whatever other honor I can bestow on it.
