As soon as I saw the cover of BLIND DATE, the latest release from Legend Video, I caught my breath at the sight of the absolutely gorgeous Tera Patrick (here she is billed as Sadie Jordan). The imaginative packaging shows images of Tera blindfolded and embracing oversized chains. On the back, she is shown kneeling and licking at the sky (right under the director credit for Jerome Tanner, a symbolic gesture, no doubt). These pictures were enough for me to recommend this DVD, which is actually a standard five-scene affair, with some very enthusiastic and sexy actresses (despite the cover, there is no underlying theme of bondage or submission at all so don't bother looking for it).
Tera fans (which includes myself) will be glad to know that she is in two above-average guy-girl scenes, and looks delectable in every shot. The first with regular partner Eric Everhard has the erotic advantage of dispensing with a condom, but lacks a facial. Nevertheless, I can think of no better vision than Tera with a cock in her mouth, or her legs spread wide-open while being penetrated. Unfortunately, Tera pretty much disappears for the rest of the movie, until the end when she meets up with another lucky bastard. Her scene with Anthony Crane starts off with a blowjob on the couch, and graduates to one of those hammock-like sex chairs, where they continue the suck and fuck fest. There are times where the her partner seems a bit limp, which is all the more bewildering considering how he is living out the sexual fantasy of every red-blooded male. Again, there is no facial, which kind of makes her starring role a bit disappointing, but even her mediocre scenes are pretty damn good.
Gia performs a straight scene with Tony Tedeschi which has plenty of 69, reverse cow-girl, and missionary action, but is just average overall. The very attractive Kurious performs a sensuous and very wet blowjob on Evan Stone, which was bit too quick for me to appreciate fully. They have sex outdoors in a jacuzzi, and her body has a very natural, soft look to it (despite the presence of a very large tattoo on right above her buttocks) which the camera loves.
The ending scene features the uniquely sexy Lola, who has an all-natural body and performs like she really enjoys what she's doing. Unfortunately, she is paired with Jack Napier for an interracial tryst which fails to deliver the money shot. After engaging in a lengthy blow-job, a standing 69, and Max Hardcore-style intercourse, the camera suddenly cuts away to her with her mouth wrapped around his dick as he is cumming. We are then treated to a quick shot of white stuff on her tongue, and then a close-up of his face in the throes of satisfaction. Then the scene fades out. To me, this is an absolute cop-out; I cannot imagine any director not allowing his camera to linger on the sight of Lola with a mouthful of cum, especially after such heated sex. To end the movie on this note was a bit of an anti-climax (literally).
I did notice a distinct absence of any girl-girl scenes. It would have been nice to see Tera get it on with Lola following Jack Napier's physical let-down. To me, a porno just isn't complete without women making out, munching on rug, and then using foreign objects to prod each other (however, I will take prolonged scenes of women kissing over the use of toys any day).
The extras on this DVD include the standard photo gallery and chapter options, as well as a moderately interesting "behind the scenes" look into the making of the movie. There is no narrative; instead we get random video footage of the various actors at rest and at play. While it is a nice touch to the DVD, it is not something I would watch more than once. The overall video and audio quality of this release is clear and without flaws.
BLIND DATE is worth getting for Ms. Patrick alone. It's not a great movie, but Tera makes it pretty close to great.

In the movie's first scene, Tera Patrick steals the show. It's her second time with Erik Everhard and it was a wise decision from the director. The scene starts out great: Erik warms up Tera in the same fashion he did last time around and has her spreading her thighs.
