It's No Joke: This Is The Best Porn Movie Ever!

By: Spooky
In-House Review - Oct 29 2007

I've reviewed adult films for over seven years now here at Adult DVD Empire, and in that time I've seen literally thousands of adult titles from beginning to end. I only say that to give some weight to what I'm about to tell you, and I assure you that what I'm about to say is not hype, lip service or an attempt to help this site sell copies:

Operation: Desert Stormy is the best porn movie I've ever seen. In fact, it mops the floor with my previous favorite - Wicked's Space Nuts - which, up until now, I didn't think could ever be topped.

I suppose it's no surprise that some of the same people involved in Space Nuts (and last year's good, but nowhere in this league Camp Cuddly Pines) are involved in Operation: Desert Stormy: namely Stormy Daniels (who not only stars, but wrote and directs) and Jonathan Morgan (who's listed as Editor here, but seems to have led his expertise to the shoot as well). After tackling the sci-fi and horror genres with those previous films, this time Wicked takes on the spy movie - spoofing mainstream titles like Mr. & Mrs. Smith and the James Bond series.

Operation: Desert Stormy stars Stormy and Steven St. Croix as Rachael and George, a married couple who both work for a top secret government agency. He's an agent who's not taken seriously by his peers; while she's the secretary of Agent X (Randy Spears), the organization's top spy, who's called away on a dangerous mission early in the movie.

When Agent X goes missing and is presumed dead, Rachael and George make their way to the Middle East where they team up with a couple of British agents (played by Marcus London and Tony DeSergio) to try and stop the evil Hussein (Ron Jeremy) and his henchmen (two of which are played by Tommy Gunn and Voodoo).

Of course, while the plot if fun, it's only a device to set up the comedy of the movie - which is downright sidesplitting at time. The characters played by Stormy and Steven have hit a rocky spot in their marriage, and they spend most of Operation: Desert Stormy at each other's throats. The two have great on-screen chemistry with each other, and both give award-worthy performances.

While there's a lot of story covered in the movie, there's plenty of time for sex as well, as Operation: Desert Stormy serves up a full eight scenes (plus two more on one of the bonus discs that didn't make the final cut). We start off with a scene between Stormy and Randy that turns out to be a nightmare that Steven's character is having about his wife cheating on him with her boss. This is followed up by Steven getting his own chance to "cheat" with a sexy lab scientist played by Jenna Haze, who looks as stunning as she ever has in this movie.

Things then head to the South Pacific where Randy Spears hooks up with Kaylani Lei while on assignment. The rest of the sex in the movie takes place in the Middle East, and begins with a lesbian duo between brunettes Lorena Sanchez and Nakita Kash while Ron Jeremy watches and films the action with a hand-held video camera. After this, we get to see a one-on-one pairing between Roxy DeVille and Voodoo.

Fans of multiple-partner sex won't want to miss the six-person mini-orgy involving harem girls Audrey Bitoni, Austin Kincaid, Eva Angelina and Veronica Rayne with the British spies played by Marcus London and Tony DeSergio. We also get a sequence with Melissa Lauren playing dominatrix to Tommy Gunn's character. The movie wraps up (as you probably guessed) with Stormy and Steven in a passionate tryst.

Throughout, whether the movie is getting us to laugh with its plot or turning us on with its hot sex, it doesn't miss a beat...heck, even the opening and end credits are impressive - with a Bond-like nod in the title sequence, and a catchy tune over the cast and crew names at the conclusion.

While the movie alone is enough to make any porn fan jump for joy, Wicked has simply outdone themselves in terms of extras, with two bonus DVDs packed with goodies as part of this 3-disc set.

Before one even gets to the first bonus disc, the movie disc (presenting the feature in anamorphic widescreen in 5.1 Dolby) contains a feature-length commentary track with Stormy Daniels and Steven St. Croix. Disc Two is divided into three sections titled "Intel," "Strategic," and "Visuals," while the third DVD is separated into sections called "Lexicon," "Essentials," and "Unclassified".

The "Intel" section of Disc Two contains a 43-minute Behind The Scenes look at the making of the movie. Another cool feature here is a cartoon entitled "Operation Desert Slappy" that is actually interactive, and lets you select different positions for the two girls in the movie to have a little animated lesbian fun with each other. Depending on how long you take with each position, it takes about five minutes or so to watch the full cartoon. "Harem Girls Speak" is 15-minutes worth of interview footage with Roxy DeVille, Veronica Rayne, Austin Kincaid and Audrey Bitoni; while "ADR on ODS" is a look at how the re-recording of audio takes place in the studio during the post-production process. The "Intel" section rounds out with 4 minutes worth of bloopers and a 6-minute featurette on some of the various people who came into Wicked to audition for parts in Operation Desert Stormy. All the footage in this section has been anamorphically enhanced.

The "Strategic" section consists of six anamorphic featurettes covering everything from a cast gathering to read through the script, to training for the movie, to location shooting, to the box cover shoot. The seventh option in this section is entitled "Profiles" and consists of scrolling text bios for the characters in the movie (as opposed to bios for the real-life cast). The "Visuals" section is a collection of photo galleries for the movie, the cast, the sex scenes and behind the scenes shots.

Over on the third disc, "Lexicon" is divided into three sections, starting with "Interviews," which contains two separate interviews with Stormy and Steven. The 4-minute "Ron TV" option is a humorous bit where the porn legend shows us the proper way of picking up women. "The Ron Cam" gives us a look at the footage from Ron's hand-held camera during the Lorena/Nakita lesbian tryst in the movie.

"Essentials" is where viewers will find all the bonus sex scenes, starting with two scenes that got cut out of the film: a pairing between Nicole Sheridan and Derrick Pierce; and a coupling between Tory Lane and Voodoo. There's also a pair of sex scenes from other Wicked titles: Kaylani Lei and Chris Cannon from Candelabra; and Randy Spears and Carmel Moore from Black Widow. Of course, what would be a Stormy DVD without some additional Stormy sex scenes? The cool thing with these is that Stormy actually takes us on a tour of the Wicked warehouse and introduces each of the three scenes, consisting of her pairing with Voodoo in The One; teaming with Randy Spears in Sleeping Around; and a look at the first time she had sex with Steven St. Croix in What's A Girl Gotta Do? All of the sex scenes in this section of the DVD are non-anamorphic (although letterboxed) except for the Black Widow scene, which is anamorphically enhanced.

The final section on Disc Three is called "Unclassified" and contains 10 trailers (including the one for Operation: Desert Stormy); a 3 ½-minute anamorphic promo reel for the studio; DVD-ROM content, and some phone sex advertisements.

Fans are going to be hearing a lot of good things about Operation: Desert Stormy in the coming weeks, months, and yes - even years. Watching it was like watching an instant classic unfold. This is the adult movie that people inside and outside the industry are going to be comparing other, newer releases with for a long time.

Jenna Jameson may be the most successful adult star ever, but Stormy Daniels is far and away the most talented the industry has ever seen: the perfect combination of brains and beauty that even mainstream film would have a hard time matching. Who would have thought that the best porn movie ever would have come from a woman, let alone one of the industry's starlets? Yet here it is, and all those male directors out there who only think they know how to make porn better pay attention.

Stormy Daniels is now the force to reckon with in adult. And Operation: Desert Stormy is the movie to beat at next year's AVNs...and perhaps, just perhaps, for all-time.
