The best compliment I can offer the Digital Playground's SEXUAL FREAK is that the movie is as good as the Blu-ray looks. Shot in 1080p (but displayed as a 1080i picture, due to Blu-ray's inability to produce a native 1080p/30 frames per second picture), the feature has a stylishly gritty appearance, with high contrast lighting in several scenes which add to "rough and raw" flavor of Robby D.'s work.. While some may find the lighting and subdued colors a minor distraction, others will find the look a welcome change from the flat, fisheye visuals of every other gonzo title. Overall, this video looks great and the contents are hotter than Jessica Alba sharing a deep, wet kiss with Scarlett Johansson. This is yet another excellent Digital Playground production which shows why Blu-ray technology is worth your time and money.
As one might expect, SEXUAL FREAK delivers hot and heavy hardcore using fetishistic elements like female dominance, bondage-style outfits and plenty of dirty talk. Out of six scenes, covergirl Jesse Jane appears in three segments at the beginning, middle and end. Now a dedicated professional of her craft, Jesse Jane was actually a relative newcomer during the year this was made and it's a turn-on to see her sexual confidence run free. She is first matched with Tommy Gunn, in a one-on-one which relies heavily on quick-cut editing, erratically zooming close-ups, and a fast pace. After being introduced to our male protagonist, calmly relaxing on a chair and reading a magazine, Jesse pulls (appropriately enough) a gun on Mr. Gunn and proceeds to devour him in such a way which I couldn't possibly fantasize. Snarling, she swallows his cock for a good few minutes and then he is "forced" to return the oral favors. The fucking is performed in several standard positions, but the motions are heatedly frenetic.
What's really impressive is the fact that unlike other staged "rough sex" scenes, the chemistry is believable and the viewer doesn't feel like he's just watching two people pass the time with physical proficiency. Eventually, Tommy shoots on her hands and she rubs the goo all over her face like sunscreen before licking off the remains.
As enjoyable as Jesse's first scene is, my favorite was her threesome with Roxy DeVille and Scott Nails (which has the obvious advantage of having an extra girl thrown in to the mix). Poor, sexy Roxy is restrained and gagged in a closet, and the not-so-poor Mr. Nails is blindfolded and at the mercy of Miss Jane, looking goddamn hot in black pants. She licks at Mr. Nails and teases him a bit, before turning her attention to Roxy, who is directed to a bed so that Jesse can get a taste of her. As if having a front-row seat to all this action wasn't enough, Mr. Nails then gets serviced by both girls who act as though he's the last human dildo on earth. The money shot which lands on Roxy's butt might otherwise have been a let-down, but lovely Jesse laps up the result and confirms this scene as a true highlight.
Even after these two match-ups, Miss Jane retains enough energy to take command of Erik Everhard in the finishing scene, as she screams at him to get on the floor then proceeds to molest him in manner which might make Rocco Siffredi cringe. It's clear that her scene with Mr. Everhard was intended to showcase just how shamelessly wild Jesse can be. And it works. The frantic pussy-eating, the forced fucking, and the ravenous cock sucking make it abundantly clear that SEXUAL FREAK lives up to its name.
In all honesty, I can recommend this Blu-ray disc for JJ's scenes alone, but that would be doing a critical disservice to the excellent work of her fellow female performers. In the second scene, hot African-American performer Marie Luv continues the domination theme with Marco Banderas, in an interracial coupling which is shot in rich, gold colors but directed more straightforwardly. Miss Luv looks great masturbating with a small whip and stripping out of her tight outfit for our pleasure. Not really being into feet, I could have done without the shots of Mr. Banderas licking her toes, but the wait is worth it once she wraps her lips around his hard-on. Afterwards, she lets him penetrate her both vaginally and anally, in several positions which allow us to admire her body even as she gets pounded. The money shot to her chest is less than what I wanted in a wet conclusion, but that is my only minor complaint.
However, lucky Mr. Banderas eventually gets to release himself in the hot, waiting mouth of Sunny Lane, who appears after Miss Jane's threesome. The scene begins with Marco literally submitting to dog-like behavior as he crawls around on all fours at the feet of his mistress, a cute dirty blonde with a bouncy figure. The oral and intercourse are, of course, well done and well-photographed, especially when Miss Lane gets plowed on a stool missionary style.
Holly Wellin appears next, and offers a performance which is all sexual kinetic energy and enthusiasm. It starts off slow, with Ms. Wellin playing a flirtatious game of pool with Scott Nails. I will refrain from the obvious statements like "using his stick he shoots his balls into her corner pocket" and just state that her mouth working on his third leg is the stuff of wet dreams, and the anal scenes are probably the best in this video. The semen spill onto her outstretched tongue is enough to make you replay this scene before moving onto the Jesse Jane/Erik Everhard affair which is also worth watching twice.
Bonus materials on this Blu-ray are lifted directly from the DVD release, including a handful of trailers from Digital Playground's high budget and high brow titles, as well as a Behind The Scenes featurette which lasts only six minutes, but is enough to give a little bit of background on how this picture was shaped. (And may I note that Jesse looks terrific, even in simple candid shots.). The audio is also excellent, with a fine mix of music and natural sounds (although I can understand that many viewers would rather watch their porn sans any instrumentals) ringing out in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround.
If you haven't seen SEXUAL FREAK on DVD, then by all means, your first taste of it should be through the wonders of high definition. I've always followed the philosophy that if a movie is worth having in your collection, then it's worth any reasonable upgrade. With that in mind, fans of SEXUAL FREAK should also pick up the Blu-ray disc and pass off their standard DVD to the philistines who have yet to convert.

I don't think I've made any secret in my reviews that I'm a big fan of Jesse Jane. She's bubbly, extremely cute, sizzling when it comes to sex, and has a great body. So I wasn't shocked that I enjoyed
Sexual Freak...but I was surprised at just
how much I liked it. This is one of Jesse's best vignette titles to date.
The movie is directed by Robby D. in the same style he used in
Deeper and the same style director Celeste uses in all of her directorial efforts (of which Robby is always the Director of Photography). The main difference here (as was the case with
Deeper) is that Robby makes the wise choice of including the talent's moans and groans during the sex. That may not sound like a big deal, but trust me - it's the difference between really being turned on by a movie and having a so-so reaction to it.
Jesse is showcased in three of
Sexual Freak's six scenes, starting with Scene One, which finds Tommy Gunn relaxing in his home when he suddenly hears some noise outside. He gets up to see what it is, but returns to relaxing when he can't see anyone. We then see Jesse Jane (in a stunning black outfit that straps around her tight body) sneak into the house, come behind Tommy and put a gun to his head...telling him he's going to submit to her sexual needs or else! (Oh, if only we all could have our homes broken into like this!) What follows shows the tone that Jesse takes in all of her scenes in
Sexual Freak...she's aggressive...
really aggressive...and the resulting action is just great. She mounts Tommy in a position that is halfway between cowgirl and reverse cowgirl ("side cowgirl," perhaps?) and then turns completely into the cowgirl position. She also takes some doggy and then moves to the floor for reverse cowgirl, which is followed by Tommy jerking into Jesse's cupped hands.
Marie Luv is up next, and before she begins making out with Marco Banderas (formerly known as Marco Duato), we get to see Marie in a little solo fun - teasing herself with a riding crop and rubbing her pussy. Marco comes out with a serving tray with Marie's high heels on them, and Marco proceeds to both worship Marie's feet and put her heels on. Marie then sits on his face for a few minutes so Marco can get her pussy wet, and she soon returns the favor with some oral pleasing of her own. Scott Nails is also on hand, and the pair is soon joined by Jesse Jane, who first walks on top of Roxy's body, and then unties her and leads her into an adjoining bedroom. With Scott still out in the hall, the two girls get into some lesbian action together, consisting of a mutual exchange of licking and fingering. They then head back into the hall to get Scott and lead him into the bedroom. The threesome features Scott taking turns with both women, and the scene ends with Scott pumping Roxy doggy style, while Jesse lies in a 69 position underneath her. Scott pulls out and shoots his cum onto Roxy's behind, which Jesse is more than happy to lick off!
As Scene Four begins, Sunny Lane is doing a little maid service to a bar and the stools up against it. Marco Banderas comes into the room on all fours and munching on a red chew toy that he has in his mouth. Seeing that she has a "pet" to service her, Sunny has her way with Marco, giving him head and then taking standing doggy from behind. If you're having trouble identifying Holly Wellin in the next scene, it's probably because most of her work up until this point as featured her as a blonde. Holly sports dark hair here, and I have to be honest - I like this look a lot! Shooting pool and swapping a little "hooch" with Scott Nails, Holly gives the best blowjob you'll see in
Sexual Freak...a totally wet and sloppy one, which I wish more porn chicks would do on camera. After Scott gives Holly some oral in return, he sticks a red toy in her behind. This is followed by vaginal penetration in the missionary position, and then some anal standing doggy style. When Scott can't hold back any more, he dumps his wad into her mouth.
The final scene is the best one in the movie, and features Jesse as a hooker (or I guess the proper term here would be "high class escort") servicing Erik Everhard. Jesse tells Erik that she has three rules he needs to follow: No names; It's never
too hard; and we don't stop until you cum. She then screams at him to get on all fours, the beginning of the aggressive, take-no-prisoners way Jesse has sex throughout this whole segment (and movie, for that matter). The scene also ends the way I hoped it would - with Jesse jerking off Erik until he explodes in his mouth. I'm not sure that this is Jesse's best scene ever, but I have to tell you, it's
very close.
Digital Playground has included an entertaining 6-minute behind the scenes featurette on this DVD that is worth checking out if only to see how different Roxy Deville looks when she doesn't have makeup on (and Spooky will just leave it at that!). There's also a text bio for Jesse; a nice selection of trailers; and a photo gallery to check out. As always, Digital has given us a solid anamorphic transfer with 5.1 Dolby sound.
I'm a little biased when it comes to Ms. Jane, but I can't imagine any fan of hers who wouldn't want to make
Sexual Freak part of their permanent collection. It's well-shot, well-edited, and America's favorite porn starlet doesn't disappoint.
