I haven't been too easy on Robby D lately, though that has more to do with some of the class concepts he's incorporated in some of his work, as well as his annoying camera commentary during gonzo flicks. Thankfully, those things don't rear their heads here, and where Robby does excel, as an actually director, shine through in
Naked Aces 4.
Now maybe I am un-American, but the girls with guns things is far from a turn-on for me. Quite the opposite, and while I get that this whole film is a play off of some relatively recent British action films, the presentation here is still reminiscent of the POV flick of Eva Angelina as a mercenary. At least here we don't have the added fetish of smoking.
I didn't much care for the old film look in the beginning of the feature, as I feared they were going to carry this through the entire thing. Thankfully, once some sex gets under way, they let that fade in favor of the higher quality in which they were actually filming. Shay Jordan is up first, and I rather liked her attire, though she barely looked like the maid they were going for. She's attractive enough, though there is so much shadowing in here that watching anything is hard. It's almost like they were one light short on the setup. It took away from the scene quite a bit, sadly. Facial to finish things.
Adrianna Lynn gets second billing, and while it's a well done scene, there were two small drawbacks. One was her fluttering voice, which was a distraction. It was just too overdone to seem realistic. The other is that we seem to have the same shadowing issues as the other scene, which is odd as there is so much light that the scene is almost washed out. Strange. Long scene, though not of as high of quality as I would have liked. Tit fucking to finish.
Other highlights include getting to look at Alecktra Blue and her amazing breasts, always a pleasure, and captured particularly well, aside from again the old film gag. Has this devolved into a 1920s film by now? But it does turn into a nice sequence between Alecktra and the fabulously tattooed Sophia Santi. I like a tattooed girl, and having her entire back done like this really takes the cake. Her scene with Alecktra, though, just seems to be lacking the kind of passion that would make it realistic. There's no continuity to it. Alecktra's hair gets in the way from seeing what she's really licking, and yet they hold that position for quite some time. Alecktra does take a toy in the ass, though the edits here get progressively more choppy, so it's hard to watch with any focus.
Otherwise, it gets a bit thin. I would have expected a bit more, honestly, as there really wasn't that one scene that stood out and made the film. Jada Fire's scene was just a bit too brief, and the final scene had no energy to it.
It's well made, I'll give it that, though there are enough small things throughout that make this a little bit harder than it should be to enjoy. The lighting, for one thing, needed to be a bit more consistent. For another, the female talent seemed to be behaving in such a way as to be seen as preposterous. I mean, Alecktra's scene with Sophia was hard to watch just because they were being too spastic, not out of pleasure, but just out of movement. In fact, it seemed much more mechanical than it should have. And Adrianna's acting was just all off to really work, made all the worse by the fact that it was the longest scene on the disc. Little things, enough to take away from a complete film, though.
Nothing massive as far as extras go, as it's pretty much the standard fare. For a feature, you get what you should. For a film, it's a bit lacking in continuity. For a porn flick, it's a bit lacking in heat. It's almost as though, with this, Robby tried to float between the two, and I just don't think it quite comes off.
