I used to review almost every volume of
Jack's Playground that was released, but have only caught a handful of them over the past few years. But one look at Jesse Jane in that maid's outfit on the cover, and I just knew I had to check out Vol. 37 of this long running Digital Playground series.
It appears since I last checked out
Jack's Playground that our talking dildo pal Montel has been shot into space. Orbiting the Earth, he gives us a recap of
Jack's Playground 36, and he pops up from time to time in this edition, including giving us a preview of the next volume after the final scene.
Fans won't have to wait long to see Jesse Jane, as she's first up in this title. Jack arrives at Ben English's pad (yes, it's that notoriously over-used porn house you see in every other gonzo movie), and Jesse is already dressed up in the maid's outfit you see her sporting on the box cover. A problem I noticed here that really stands out since Jesse is talking to Jack (actually Director Robby D., for those who already don't know that) from across the room is the fact that the only microphone being used seems to be the one attached to the camera (i.e. no boom mics). This makes Jack's voice a little louder than it should be and Jesse's voice rather hard to hear during the opening moments of this segment.
I won't go as far to say that this ranks among Jesse's best scenes, but the maid's outfit certainly adds to the eroticism of her performance. After sucking on Ben's cock for a minute or two, Jesse bends over for some standing doggy, then joins Ben on a cushioned chair for reverse cowgirl, followed by cowgirl. There's an interesting take on the missionary position, as Ben holds her up and Jesse props her self up at an angle by putting her arms behind her back for leverage. The scene ends with Ben jerking into Jesse's mouth, and with Jesse sucking him dry after the pop.
The next scene begins with a little "pop-up video" action with Kelsey Michaels, as she poses for the camera while little tidbits about her popup on screen - including the fact that she no longer does sex on camera. Fortunately,
Jack's Playground 37 was shot back in 2005 when Kelsey still did perform on camera, and here she's joined by Chris Charming for a scene that includes missionary and cowgirl penetration, as well as a facial pop-shot (although not much of one, I'm sad to report).
The third scene begins with Jack and Eric Masterson driving around and picking up Roxy DeVille. It's then back to Eric's place (or maybe it's Roxy's) for a pairing that consists of reverse cowgirl and cowgirl, followed by some doggy down on the floor. The cumshot has Eric jerking onto Roxy's chest.
Jack then goes to visit Jelena Jensen, where he learns she's just done her first nude photo shoot. Following her into the shower, Jack films as Jelena soaps up, shows off her busty chest, and then uses the shower head on her pussy.
If you read the scrolling text that appears on the bottom of your screen at the beginning of Scene Five, you'll learn that this segment is what industry people refer to as "a oner". This means it's a scene with no edits whatsoever - just one continuous shot. You know, like when Martin Scorsese shot Ray Liotta and Lorraine Bracco walking into that club in
GoodFellas, only with a little less style and a whole lot more sex. This "oner," for the record, clocks in at 11-minutes and 4 seconds...and I only know this because the scrolling text in this scene kept beating me over the head with that fact. The action here is between Sue Diamond and Scott Nails, and it's a so-so scene that includes missionary, cowgirl and doggy - ending with a climax onto Sue's behind.
The
Jack's Playground series always includes a couple of solo girl scenes (usually without even any penetration), but I'm a little confused why Robby chose to end this volume with one, since fans usually expect pornos to end with hardcore action. The solo scene here is with Valentina Vaughn, and it's basically just her showing off her body to the camera, while a few pop-ups occur (basically just to tell us they're not going to ruin the scene by including a lot of pop-ups!).
Extras on the disc are slim, to say the least. No behind the scenes footage - just a cumshot recap, a photo gallery and some trailers. As always, Digital has given this release an anamorphic transfer, along with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound.
While I enjoyed the Jesse Jane scene, the rest of
Jack's Playground 37 is pretty forgettable - putting this one into the "rental-only" (or VOD, if you so choose) category.
