I'm really happy to have another feature from Mikayla, just as I'm pretty damn happy to have any release from Wicked these days. And while I've had a disappointment or two here or there, it's hard for the bombshell brunette to disappoint, and it's hard for Randy Spears to make a bad film.
Mikayla's Mind is well worth the price of admission.
One thing I always have liked about Wicked's discs has been the trailers... they seem to do a better job of packaging their films than anyone else I've seen.
The Price of Lust was the first trailer, and it looks interesting, though I'm not a fan of adult films that try to be dramatic instead of humourous. I reviewed
One Wild & Crazy Night in this space, and it was both funny and arousing. Same thing with
Carpool and a few others. But I'm not sure about
The Price of Lust, even with Stormy Daniels starring. Same goes for the second trailer,
Forever is the Night. I actually reviewed that one on this disc, and what disappointed me the most was the sub-VHS video quality of the whole production, not to mention the fact that it was all done in a kind of low light situation that meant we couldn't appreciate any of the bodies we saw. Even if you're a Kaylani Lei fan, skip that one.
In traditional format, I checked out the bonus features first, on my usual hunt for bonus scenes. As expected, Wicked was kind enough to supply yet another dose of Mikayla. What was odd was that the screen didn't autoformat for the scene, so they wound up really out of perspective, no matter what I did. I don't know if that's a glitch with my player or what. It was a darker scene, though, something I really don't like. Just give me good lighting and good fucking, you know?
The opening, with Mikayla interrupting a snowy screen, was reasonably well done, though I thought the lines could have been delivered better. What I didn't like was that they at first made it look like we were seeing a TV in a living room. It would have been far more interesting to make it look like the whole screen was doing that. I also didn't like that she asked if my wife had gone to bed yet. Come on. She'd be so pissed if I didn't tell her porn was randomly on television.
I thought they did do a brilliant job of framing the action, though. Mikayla shows up in the middle of a couple making out, and they did a simply tremendous job freezing while she interacted with them. What I didn't get was that Mikayla was upset that it was her ex-boyfriend and former friend going at it, so she quickly sucked his dick while they were frozen. What does that prove? Other than my liking to watch it, that is. Mikayla departs, and we're treated to a very nice scene, very enjoyable in everything except the fact that Weather Channel music seems to have been used. I could hear in the back of my mind, "Here's the 7 Day Outlook." Again, a pleasant scene, not terrible hardcore, and friendly to essentially all couples. They freeze again when Mikayla comes down the stairs. When did she go up there? It's a tit shot for the cum, and Mikayla mocks her for it, commenting that at least she swallowed. Directorally, that was well done.
There was a nice light bondage scene up next, really kind of a hot one. I didn't like Mikayla in bondage costume, though. Cut out breast holes on latex always looked dumb to me. Couples that always wanted to try the sex swing will be interested in this scene, though, as you get a good demo for how it works. The only real disappointment was in the fact that the cumshot was more or less invisible. Seriously, I don't know where it went. Aside from that and some occasional bad lighting, it was a very nice scene.
There was a bit of a racial stereotype in the next scene, but I couldn't be bothered than to do anything other than fast forward through it... it was a girl in a Lucite box sucking cock. Boring. Just like Mikayla saying "I just love porn. Don't you?" Really not good line delivery. I'm not thinking that's her strong suit. It all feels far too forced.
I did like how at the end of her lesbian scene she asked if that was enough for us to get off, shocked that it was no, and then promised to give us one more scene if we blew a hot sticky load for her. I'm thinking her knowing that this probably will happen a couple of hundred times is a hell of a power trip. And while my computer wouldn't read the disc beyond this point, I did see a few snippets, including one hell of a titshot at the end. It looked good. At least contract star good.
Mikayla has always had a bit of an Eva Angelina thing going on for me, though I think Eva delivers lines much better. I'm wondering what the two of them together would be like... For now, Mikayla's Mind was enough fun to be worth buying, and while it isn't the most hardcore disc you'll ever buy, it's a reasonably safe bet for a good couples' night.
