A little annoying at first to figuring how batteries went. On/off is a liitle hard to get used to but great vibrating power. For battery placement read on.Unscrew the base which is the black twist off part closest to the purple part of the vibrator, put in the 2 AA batteries so one of the batteries' "nipple" end is facing up and the other facing down. Then screw on the base again, tight enough so the waterproof seal is in effect but not too tight. By screwing on the base, this is also the on/off controls and the best thing to do is to take out the batteries when not in use. That way, it won't accidentally go on and it won't run down your batteries that way.
