It's not hard to get behind a film like this, what, with the twin talents of Kristina Rose and Rebeca Linares gracing the cover. Not a hard decision, that. And from Third Degree?
Obsessions is easily a slam dunk for adding to your collection, the kind of film that should shortly be made a bestseller.
Pretty brunette Savannah Stern is up first, tossing and turning a bit in bed as her partner manages to sleep. Not for long, though, as she wants him to wake up. He wants to make their sex interesting, but she "doesn't have time for that shit anymore." We cut the scene to later on when he's watching television, demanding dinner. Annoying bit, the one where the guy is demanding food. Isn't that several decades beyond acceptability? Instead, Savannah has dressed up for him, all spicy like he wanted. A bit much on the eye makeup, really, but otherwise she both looks and moves great. And he's not thinking about dinner anymore. A pretty standard scene from a positions perspective, and the technical aspects are largely well handled. The lighting gets a bit poor towards the end, though, a bit overdone and washed out. The money shot is half on her tits and half her mouth. Then she starts to play with it. I get that this works for some people, but I can't stand it.
Estrella Flores and Marco Banderas have an amusing opening to their scene, both with camera angles that make it look like they're having sex, either with someone or all alone. Estrella actually has a really bad itch on her leg she's scratching, and Marco is trying to get the polish out of the can. Interesting how it turns into a guy-under-the-waterfall scene. Some equality here, then. I say it's interesting because the boxcover only highlights the female talent while simply listing the males in smaller font, no photos. Really, again, the scene is pretty lighthearted, amusing, with Marco almost drowning and not knowing hot to get out of the pool he fell into. Estrella saves him - sort of. They head inside for Marco to dry off and, well, you can guess. A good, though very standard, scene unfolds, with a partially errant facial capping a technically sound performance.
Rebeca Linares has just a wonderful scene on this disc, and my hat's off to the director for really getting the details right here. Everything is decorated using the same colours, from the white of the couch, carpet, walls, as well as Rebeca's top and shoes, to the pink of the flowers, purse, wall hanging, phone, and her bottoms. It's nicely produced that way, giving the scene a distinct look. Tiny Rebeca takes on quite the cock in this scene, something I suppose she's known for. I remember in particular a scene she did with Steve Holmes, where her forearm and his dick were about the same size. She does get almost a bit too vocal in this scene, really just at the wrong moments, but the rest of the performance, from both talent, is quite excellent. The camera does do some rapid close-ups that are almost unnecessary, especially to capture Rebeca's overdone reactions, but it's nothing that can't be ignored. Almost a surprise facial in the end, as Rebeca wasn't turning around quickly enough and took a good shot.
Kristina Rose has help in her scene, provided by the lovely Aiden Starr. This cute blonde brings some smooth interaction with Kristina and makes for a scene where there is always something happening. Highlights include Aiden taking it missionary with Kristina sitting on her face, as well as the guy jumping up to nail Kristina doggie while Aiden keeps licking her clit. Good effort by all parties here, and the ending shared facial is a nice treat.
Obsessions is a good film, one that captures well thought out sex in nice locales with technical skill. The performances are all standard or above, with some definite standout moments. If someone wants to know how the industry has changed and evolved, but still wants to see how sex has always been done, they'll be comfortable with
Obsessions, a film that doesn't go over the top trying to touch upon taboos or be "dirty." It's well-crafted and well-performed, and it's hard to ask for much more than that.
