Wicked's
Bet on Black had me worried at first, as it seemed to be perpetuating a stereotype I rather don't like: that interracial is somehow controversial and sometimes playing up racial misconceptions. But I had to remind myself that this was Wicked we were talking about, a company that, thanks to its large market share, plays it safe in such situations. So they manage to ride that boundary quite nicely, giving us with
Bet on Black a nice collection of sex vignettes that don't take themselves too terribly seriously.
I do wish they made one minor correction, however: if you're going to give us a chapter menu, can you please do something besides just give us numbers with unviewable action behind it? That makes it rather tough to tell who is who and what they're going to be doing.
Oh, and during the credits? That may have been the worse shuffle I've ever seen.
Kiera King is up first, and her scene is amazing in how mundane it is. It's not an insult mind you, but it really is the typical lick-suck-fuck from yesteryear. A condom scene, as almost everything from Wicked is, but one where there isn't a tremendous amount of chemistry between the stars. It's a shame, too, as they both seem to do good work. There's just something not there. They do a soft fade where the condom disappears, and Kiera takes a nice mouth shot, her lovely eyes watching the camera.
Melanie Jayne had the second scene, playing pool in some lingerie. Different, that. And weird that it looks like it's a shag pool table. Can't say I've ever seen that before. So of course the pool table gets used. Same order as Kiera's scene, though quite a bit more position variety on offer here. Good reverse cowgirl, and it's reasonably well captured as well, though the camera is still about two feet too low. It's really the same kind of fade to facial as the first scene as well, though this one is more of a dribbler shot that kind of gets everywhere rather than the consistent stream. Long one, though: I'll give him that.
The lovely Savannah Stern, kind enough to grace the front cover, is up next. She really is the complete package, isn't she? She has both the looks and the moves for this business. They do manage to mix things up just a little bit for this scene, mostly by skipping the blowjob sequence so we can see Savannah do reverse cowgirl. A great body for it. Weird that her breasts are completely stationary when she bounces, though. The positions have good variety here, though the pop shot in the end isn't what it could have been. Very much a dribbler, to the point where it's hard to tell anything at all happened aside from one glob in the mouth.
Andi Anderson is one of those models I'm hot and cold on. There are times when she looks really good, and there are others where she just looks far too overdone, like all of the parts of her we're supposed to find sexy were given performance enhancing drugs or something. Here she has a bit of a simpler look, which is a good thing, not so made up. It was a nice flashback to see tremendously bad porn kissing again: it's been a bit. Tongues out about two inches and then it looks like a fencing tournament. Ah, now there was a staple of the 80's and 90's. Great oral both ways in this one, and because it's Andi, of course there's anal. Good scene, with a tit shot in the end that's yet another dribbler.
The world needs far more Natasha Nice. She's just flat out adorable, the kind of model that does make me wish I had gotten in front of the camera when I had the chance several years ago. I'd have to turn down the paycheck out of gratitude! So wonderfully cute. Great oral work here, but since you know me, the reverse cowgirl stole the show. The camera stayed high and really showed off her body, and she did most of the work. I have a thing against when it's just her on top but the guy acting like a jackhammer. There's a bit of that here, but not all of it. A big thank you for the attempted facial in the end, and it would have been great, but two big loads when flying straight past her. Oops!
Bet on Black is a great film, period. It avoids the stereotypes present in so many "interracial" films. A tip of that hat to Mark Stone and company for some great work.
