PUSSY CATS (sometimes referred to as a single word) is a solid girl-girl series directed by the very talented Courtney Cummz who excels working on both sides of the camera. The series strikes the right combination of hot and horny starlets, well-choreographed action, and excellent videgraphy and sound, and this fourth volume is no exception. Naturally, as with most adult titles, the scenes are generally formulaic: the girls are introduced engaging in some activity (here, it's a variation of exercising and working out) and after some suggestive banter, they get it on. Even though we are presented with five scenes pairing one hard-working performer with another, there is no real climax; the movie simply ends after the final scene. Though threesomes are hinted at, the third wheel (usually Courtney) makes an appearance at the beginning and the end with no further involvement. Other popular lesbian titles like WHERE THE BOYS AREN'T usually make it a point to end the flick on a big bang (usually with an orgy). Though there is more than enough quality hardcore here, a memorable closer would have gone a long way.
Miss Cummz kicks thing off in a good opening scene with redhead Olga Cabaeva, whose body may not necessarily appeal to those who like their girls Taylor Rain-thin. Still, the kissing is good, and the action itself is very physical, so much so that the girls end up winding down in a shower. It's a nice visual touch and shows imagination on the part of the director. In the second scene, dark-haired Juliette Bardot then has her way with cover girl Aleta Ocean. Both are dressed in bikinis, and both of whom have a natural lust for the other. The sixty-nining and making out were a pleasure to witness, and their pairing ended up as my favorite scene.
However, the next vignette spotlighting blondes Avy Scott and Diana Doll come awfully close to matching the intensity of Bardot and Ocean's affair. Miss Scott is such a passionate - and vastly underrated - sex partner, that rarely does her work feel like mere "acting" for the sake of the audience. The way she stares at Miss Doll as they suck and stroke each other is far more erotic than the most elaborate and roughest lesbian scenes found in other popular videos. Miss Scott delivers the erotic goods without making it all seem too contrived.
Jayla Starr boxes and then wrestles Ann Marie Rios in a playful scene which takes place in a weight room. I will admit that seeing some sizable barbells and plates teetering over the girls as they use the weight bench for some mutual pussy eating was a bit distracting. Even with the cameraman acting as a spotter, all it takes is one bucking orgasm to bring the whole thing down. Fortunately, the girls enjoy themselves without any resulting injuries or close-calls.
The final scene with Gabby Quinteros and Juelz Ventura (my compliments to Miss Cummz for employing many fine, ethnically exotic brunettes!) is likewise heavy with physical action and deep passion, but for whatever reason, lacked that extra something to make it special. These two are a bit "wilder" in appearance (Miss Ventura has quite a few tattoos), which probably doesn't appeal to my more "conservative" tastes. However, their enthusiasm shines from beginning to end.
The ten minute Behind The Scenes featurette is the DVD's most notable bonus, and features a short discussion with Avy Scott (I've had the pleasure of speaking with her personally, and she's as down to earth and friendly in person as she is during her interviews) and Diana Doll (who comes off as equally approachable). I will admit that my favoritism towards Miss Scott has a lot to do with me rating this disc so highly, but there's no doubt that PUSSY CATS #4 deserves the accolades.
