Burning Angel manages to do quite a few things right these days. The proof is in the fact that OranjeWife will actually grab their titles first in picking out an evening's entertainment. She's quite the picky connoisseur, and while a title like
Friends Don't Let Friends Fuck Alone 2 certainly has areas in need of improvement, this film shows that the potential the company has always shown is getting closer to becoming a reality.
A couple of the negatives to get out of the way: the menu still takes a bit too much to actually get to (little film snippets before-hand are a bit annoying), and taking the "Extra Shit" out of the menu would be a nice change if they want to play with the grown-ups. The premises are a bit on the annoying side, and I find myself preferring to watch much of this film without sound.
With that out of the way, I eventually managed to get to Violet Monroe and Joanna Angel taking on James Deen to start. It starts off kind of POV, to the point where there's even the camera operator answering the door when some other people show up. I've never liked the answering the door camera angle. For some reason I always get a bit motion sick. Sean Michaels shows up to add to the fun, and it just turns into a free for all. Highlights include Violet riding Sean reverse cowgirl while Joanna strokes James' dick into her (Violet's) mouth, Violet taking James anal spoon while Joanna rides Sean, and of course Violet's DP. Joanna rimming Violet while taking one up the rear herself wasn't such a bad thing either, but regular readers will well know my fondness for that. Full points to Violet for taking Sean up the ass, too. Violet taking two face shots is worth the price of admission alone.
Andy San Dimas takes on two guys in the next scene, one that's a bit too heavy on plot to start, but manages to wind its way to some great action by the end. Nothing quite like a DP here, but again with the double face shot in the end. Andy winds up absolutely coated.
Bella Vendetta and Draven Star put in a good show in the third scene, though again the plot is just a little bit too much here. A very choppy scene, as Bella comes in late after some of the action, then works on both Draven and James separately before they all get the scene going together. Some good action, though a bit more brief than the first scene in particular. Stomach shot in the end.
The scene I really wanted to see was the last one, featuring Misti Dawn and Jessie Lee. These inked out hotties had the most natural feeling scene out of all of them, the camera opening with them kissing slowly on the couch. Then the plot tries to kick in, with a guy looking on from outside, then letting himself in. It all gets to be far too giggly, and they should probably drop it and get on with the sex. This is also one of those scenes that could have used a bit less in the way of close-ups and perhaps some background music as well. It was just all odd from a sensory perspective. It's a nice finish, too, going straight from penetration to Jessie's mouth. Which will of course mean cumswapping, which I can do without. Ah well, it's inevitable in these scenes, it seems.
Skin, Holly D & Joanna Angel get a scene amongst themselves, too, the only all-girl scene on the disc. A good scene with lots of nice licking, but really with more than too much fake moaning. Dialing that back a bit would have been nice. It's over the top when someone who isn't even being touched starts moaning orgasmically.
Friends Don't Let Friends Fuck Alone 2 is by no means a bad film, and would be the envy of most studios for the talent and action put together here. There are still some nagging issues that hurt watchability, but toning down the attitude just a bit would go a long way towards getting this studio on top.
