AMERICAN MADE is a rather loosely directed and unmistakably hackedneyed porn feature about Alexis Ford's auto detailing services and her attention to one specific customer. The title suggests a focus on cars (presumably, those domestically made) and their sexualized appeal, but instead turns out to be just as series of vignettes where the whole "fast cars, fast women" theme is minimized. The movie is obviously meant to showcase the studio's sexy blonde covergirl and contract star, who is naturally very attractive and has a lot of sex appeal. However, her overall performance is also overshadowed by the work of her co-starlets, all of whom perform with less inhibition and more energy. That's not to say that Miss Ford does less than average work (she at least takes a partial oral cumshot from Tommy Gunn, but a little more excitement from this cute, blue-eyed blonde will go a long way to keeping a fan-following.
In any event, Alexis stars as a detailer (which I guess is a step-up from car washer) who provides special services to Tommy Gunn who is preparing for a car show. Her employees include sexy blonde Nicole Ray, the absolutely hot Isis Taylor, and the equally fuckable Danni Cole. They end up having one carnal encounter after another simply by hanging around Tommy's mansion. Tommy then falls for Alexis, they swap bodily fluids, and the movie ends. The simplistic dialogue, earnest but hilariously amateurish acting, and lack of any surprises in either storyline or sexual situations are a textbook example of your average, dopey porn flick. I was almost charmed by the lack of artistic pretensions from beginning to end.
What saves the movie from being a mere waste of time are the women, of course, all of whom deliver performances which at least hover above status quo. A lesbian encounter between Justine Joli (a redhead who is probably best known for her work in Andrew Blake movies, and has yet to do guys on film) and Miss Ford is good, clean sapphic fun highlighted by some hot kissing and a high level of enthusiasm by Miss Joli. Nicole Ray shows off her excellent oral skills in an opening scene with Mr. Gunn, and Isis gets titty-fucked by Kris Slater following a hearty suck and fuck.
Picture quality is generally good, thought the original videography is a bit too softly focused for my tastes. Despite the movie's rather modest ambitions and accomplishments, the DVD has a good number of bonus features, including a video profile on Alexis Ford, a bonus scene excerpted from AMERICAN HEROES starring Carmen Luvana and Johnny Castle, a Behind The Scenes segment again focusing on Miss Ford, and an odd but amusing video short in which Isis Taylor masturbates among quick shots of a car factory in production. One can't help but wonder if all these extra materials were meant to make up for the rather lightweight main feature.
