In the annals (sorry) of adult filmmaking, there are few series that really do it for me. Big Wet Asses is one. Oil Overload is another. And Pound the Round finishes out the podium of awesomeness by bringing great casts together with butt-tastic filmmaking. The 6th edition, featuring Sadie West's gorgeous posterior on the cover (please do anal, Sadie!), continues that stream of excellence with a cast that can't be beat and filmmaking that is top notch.
Kudos once again to the Free Speech Coalition for their anti-piracy ad in the beginning. Notice I got through that without mentioning my never-ending love for Kimberly Kane? Oh dammit!
Let's just jump straight to dessert and get things going with Sadie. A very sexy white dress she's working in this scene, forgetting any of that needless underwear along the way. The bad sunglasses come off rather rapidly as well, so thirty seconds in and it's already all-good. I love the way she smiles on camera more than anything. Sadie just seems to enjoy herself, and that makes for a beter, more passionate performance. A great all-around tease here, and even though I detest the camera operator reach-around move (HATE HATE HATE!!!), it doesn't stick around too long, so I'll barely let it slide. But careful with that Mike, okay?
We get some great, great looks at Sadie's ass, right up in her butthole, even though we're not quite allowed inside. More hands-on nonsense from Mike, but now at least he's not behind the camera. Though the camera angles they go for during this sequence are really very weird. Just too far in to have any perspective. And I've never understood the extreme vagina close-up being held open by the guy's hands. Is this part of a medical school telecourse now? Less clinical behaviour, please. The POV blowjob, too, is a bit problematic, but that's only because there's just far too much light here, washing out a great deal of Sadie. The angle feels awkward, too, though I can't quite explain how. And with the talent and action that takes place in this series, I so sometimes wish it wasn't POV. Total gagging blowjob here in the opening stages, and Sadie just keeps eye contact and motors on. Some of the angles go away from POV, especially capturing the ass, though Mike's hands keep getting in the way of our view. Blah to that. Enjoy yourself on your own time, buddy: we're paying to watch that back side. Great moans leading up to an ass cheek money shot for this one. From her, not him. Obviously.
It's really easy to look at Katie St. Ives, too, though having her do jumprope at the start is kind of a Vouyer Media move. I just don't understand the notion of taking a porn star, dressing her up in the teenage stereotype of cute, and then have her do pre-pubescent things. At least they don't have Katie act that way, too, right Vince? Oh. Definitely an adult in this one, and getting up to some very adult things. I think I love Katie's eyes almost more than anything. Very lively, showing a lot of personality. That and the fact that she's so cute and yet such a voracious performer is a wonderfully dangerous combination. No backdoor action in this one, even though Katie is doing such wonderful things these days, but what we do get works out just fine. Another external ass shot in the end with this scene. A shame we can't get more facials together, though if they cost that much more, with this cast, that might make the film quite a bit more expensive.
And with the likes of Gracie Glam and Capri Cavalli still on this disc, you definitely have a winner on your hands. I might find some small things to complain about, but I can do that with any film if given enough time. And beer. But the casting here is perfect, the action realistic enough, and the overall impression is of a series that is really just getting warmed up.
