Nearly twenty years after the original VHS release, GHOSTLUSTERS has spiritually and physically risen from the dead to make it's first appearance on DVD. Directed by the legendary Bruce Seven (whose widow, Bionca appears in a majority of the scenes), this movie was a semi-classic of its time, and much of the hardcore still holds up well. Fans who enjoy good, solid all-girl videos will easily want to pick this DVD just for the nostalgia alone, but modern viewers may find all the big-hair, dated outfits, and annoying score an infringement on its overall fap-value.
Despite the similar sounding title, GHOSTLUSTERS isn't a straightforward parody or satire of the very popular 1980's comedy. Rather, it's a vignette-oriented lesbian feature starring the always cute and wild Tianna as a rather friendly and very horny ghost who haunts a porno production helmed by dark-haired, pointy-nippled Bionca and busty blonde Victoria Paris.
I admit that the only reason why I picked up this title was for the scene-stealing appearance of Lauren Hall, otherwise known as THE TEASE (still available for download). For those unfamiliar with their Porn History, Miss Hall was a gorgeous brunette with piercing blue eyes, an all-natural figure, and a sexual charisma which shined on like a crazy diamond. Her presence in the very early nineties made some otherwise sub-standard titles well-worth watching. (Check out her opening scene in PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT, for example.) In GHOSTLUSTERS, she and Tianna sizzle and burn in a stand-out pairing before the grand-finale orgy. The two kiss in a frenzy and devour each other's pussy like crazed lesbian teenagers all over a chair and on the floor. Of course, their passion isn't as seductive or as elegant as what can now be had in girl-girl videos by Viv Thomas or even Andrew Blake, but for the time, GHOSTLUSTERS was about as good as it gets when it comes to mainstream lesbian porn. (More seasoned adult fans may recall seeing the scorching Lauren Hall/Tianna scene poorly excerpted on an old compilation title BUTTWOMAN'S FAVORITE ENDINGS.)
Nothwithstanding Mr. Seven's reputation at the time, the entire production is predictably cheesy and cheap, restricted to a few crude sets and shot under low-definition video where murky lighting and amateurish videography are flaunted. Still, I remain sexually haunted by these GHOSTLUSTERS even after two-decades, and I recommend this DVD without (too much) hesitation.
