Internal Affairs opens with a sexy-looking Chasey Lain (in an all-too-brief appearance) drugged up and licking the pussy of an unforeseen, but very demanding woman (who we can easily tell is Ashlyn Gere, despite not being able to see her face). Ashlyn gets very domineering with Chasey, putting handcuffs and a hood on her and beginning to spank her with a paddle. But something goes wrong...Chasey stops breathing and dies. Was it the drugs, or did Ashlyn get too rough? The question will haunt her character throughout the rest of the film.

Ashlyn Gere is the star of Internal Affairs, which was her big goodbye to porn back in 1995 (she has since made several comebacks). She plays a police psychologist who is called in by Asia Carrera (who plays the police captain) to certify another cop, played by Jon Dough, as fit for duty. Jon's character has also gotten too rough with a suspect, and that suspect has also died. However, Jon has no idea that Ashlyn has also been involved in a death and is doing her best to cover it up.

Although the sex isn't sizzling by today's standards (with one exception, which I will mention later in this review), the real reason to catch Internal Affairs is to watch the kind of acting that (sadly) you just don't see that often in porn anymore. Ashlyn is by far one of the better actresses ever to do adult film, and both Steven St. Croix (who also plays a cop) and Jon Dough prove that they are up to the task when acting opposite of her.

As for the sex scene that is a keeper, the movie concludes with Ashlyn and Steven literally attacking each other on an office desk for the climax of the movie. This scene is so good, I have seen Vivid use it repeatedly as a bonus scene selection on many of their other DVDs, and remember seeing it on a lot of VHS compilations as well.

Unfortunately the rest of the sex in this movie isn't that hot. Asia only gets one scene, and it's a lesbian encounter with the less than appealing Brittany Andrews. As mentioned before, Chasey's appearance is far too short, and the rest of the sex in the film mearly seems like filler to keep sex-hungry viewers watching as the story unfolds.

As for the bonus features on this disc, this older Vivid release has more bonuses that I have seen on more recent releases, as I counted a total of 29 bonus scenes on the DVD, including three with Asia and three with Ashlyn. Additionally, there are three trailers, web site information and the standard "Meet The Girls" section that is on every Vivid DVD. It all adds up to hours of entertainment.

If you are a fan of Ashlyn, or just like an interesting story to watch for a change, Internal Affairs is worth a look. It's not Ashlyn's best work as far as the sex scenes are concerned, but it is certainly one of her better performances, and let's face it...watching a bad sex scene with Ms. Gere is often a better alternative than seeing one with dozens of the other girls who pass as porn stars these days.

Yet another porno title that's a play on words. But, if you're expecting the sex in this flick to be ribald, run-of-the-mill stuff, you're out of luck. "Internal Affairs" is much more than that. This adult film offers so much foreplay and fornication that I almost thought it was a double feature. And the action transcends all styles of sexual barriers too.

For girl-on-girl enthusiasts, there's Brittany Andrews & Asia Carrera's lusty love scene. For fans of straight sex, Dallas & Steven St. Croix give you plenty to talk about. There's also some muff licking from Chasey Lain too! And let's not forget that this flick is the final adult film appearance (or one of the final appearances, depending on whom you believe) of hot Ashlyn Gere. Given her scorching past performances in such Vivid vehicles as "Masseuse 2", you won't to miss your chance here to wish her a fond farewell!

In "Internal Affairs," Ashlyn plays a police psychologist who definitely has more on her mind than merely analyzing the egos of crooked patients. To the contrary, she, and several other porn queens in this film, are also interested in analyzing the "love guns" of several male officers on the force. Spend a few hours with Ashlyn and you may want to draw your own "weapon" from its holster as well. As far as au revoir raunch goes, "Internal Affairs" is an excellent way for her to bow out of the business. It's a lengthy, horny, heartfelt good-bye from one of porn's all time finest actresses.

And since this is Ashlyn's departure from adult film, Director Bud Lee makes her the center of attention, and lets her leave in style. Of the 83 minutes in this flick, Ashlyn is featured in the bulk of them. Sometimes, she's fully dressed and concentrating on crime solving. But even when she's undercover, she still looks really good! And all the on-screen snooping around she does in uniform only helps to make the times when she finally does strip down and convert from copper to coitus loving lady all the more sweet! Actually, Chasey Lain looks pretty good in the buff too. That's evident at the start of this flick when Ashlyn finds Chasey, playing the part of a prostitute, rolling around stark naked on a motel bed. As it turns out, Ashlyn's busted Chasey before, and this time she's looking to teach her a lesson she won't soon forget. Although Ashlyn is a cop in this flick, it's Chasey who the does the initial interrogating, using her mouth to explore Ashlyn's tasty twat. It's not long, though, before Ashlyn takes control in a kinky, S&M sort of way. To that end, she handcuffs Chasey's arms behind her back, puts a leather mask on her head and whips her ass with a paddle. Police brutality never looked so good! Considering the psychopathic pain she inflicts upon Chasey, it's hard to believe Ashlyn's a police psychologist. But the next scene shows she's actually a master at her craft.

In this clip, Ashlyn is assigned by Asia Carrera (Police Captain Desandra Quinn) to council a rumored psycho detective named Dallas McKellan (Jon Dough), who's supposedly running around brutally beating up alleged felons to get them to admit to their crimes. Ashlyn apparently is extremely adept at getting in her patient's minds and becoming one with them. Thus, we get the next scene in this flick. It's a dream-like sequence in which Dough and some uncredited chick engage in foreplay while Ashlyn watches from afar. Soon, Ashlyn joins in and a wild three-way takes place. The girls suck Dough's dick, and then, in a multi-angle sequence, Ashlyn gets her box licked by her female friend while Dough fucks the other babe from behind. Then, Jon and Ashlyn engage in some cowgirl style sex before Dough screws the second lady supine and cums on her snatch and stomach. Ashlyn rubs the goo all over the chick's bod to end the scene.

As fate would have it, Dough is subsequently assigned to find out who killed Chasey in the motel room. So, now we have an intricate plot (probably a little too intricate for a porno) in which Ashlyn is supposed to be helping out Dough, while Dough is tracking down a murderer, whom we all know is Ashlyn. Well, isn't that just a bit convenient? I'm sure you can see the way this story is leading. Yep, Dough will soon have to decide whether or not to turn Ashlyn in or not. Of course, he'll be swayed by some steamy sex with Ashlyn that will make his decision an easy one. Gee gang, guess what he does? Anyone who says that he arrests Ashlyn and gives up the chance to fuck her again and again goes to the back of the class!

However, before this flick reaches its inevitable conclusion, we get to watch more interdepartmental intercourse among the cops. First, Steven St. Croix (aka Martin Quail), the internal affairs head who's investigating Dough's alleged aggressive tactics, gets some stress relief from blonde bombshell Dallas (Nancy Farmer). Although I could have done without seeing St. Croix's underwear bikini briefs, this was still a fairly cool clip. Dallas starts out by sensually sucking Steve's dick. Then, he dolls out some oral sex and screws Dallas' hairy hole in missionary and doggy positions (Kudos to Director of Photography Ralph Parfait for some excellent close up work here. The multi angles, however, aren't as good. On a few occasions, I tried unsuccessfully to click from angle to angle. The change never occurred and the film skipped a few seconds ahead in time instead.). Steve follows that up by unleashing a healthy load of spew in between Dallas' perky, fake tits as the scene draws to a close.

Obviously, Ashlyn and Jon Dough will soon make the rounds too. In fact, their first council session, which takes places in a bar, ends with the two of them fucking out in back of the building. The couple put on quite a show. Ashlyn gives some seriously assertive head prior to Dough tossing her up against his car, fingering her, and fucking her clit from behind. Ashlyn then gets humped while lying on the car hood. Ultimately, Dough cums all over the side of her face to end the scene. So much for not getting too close to your patients, I guess!

Asia Carrera, who's only been seen in this flick sparingly thus far, also gets her chance to shine when she goes to meet up with Dough outside a nudie bar. Dough, however, can't make it and sends busty blonde stripper Brittany Andrews in his place. In real life, I'd question why Brit's in the mix. She really has nothing to contribute to the case. But since this is a porno, I'll just smile and be glad that she's here. From the look on Asia's face, she approves of Brittany's appearance too! After Brittany dances for the excited Asia, the two team up for some scintillating dyke sex, highlighted by multiple angle rug munching and plenty of touchy feely antics. Brittany's "interesting" application of Corona Beer also may have fans of that particular brand of alcoholic beverage scrambling to get a six-pack or two to share with their significant other. Use of a lime during this sex act apparently is optional.

With Asia and Ashlyn on his side, Dough is eventually cleared of all policy brutality charges. Dough, in turn, decides not to turn Ashlyn in either. The news of Dough's exoneration comes as a shock to St. Claire, who thought for sure that Dough was guilty and would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This all leads into this movie's grand finale in which St. Croix confronts Ashlyn about the situation. Their heated conversation soon leads to some extremely heated sex. Considering this is the final(?) sex scene of Ashlyn's adult film career, I'm not going to give away the specifics. Rather, I'll just strongly suggest that you watch it so you can see what we're all missing since Ashlyn retired from the porno biz.

Overall, "Internal Affairs" is an outstanding adios from Ms. Ashlyn Gere. Although she plays the role of a shrink, she certainly didn't shrink my dick in any way, shape or form. Instead, she - along with the rest of the cock hungry female cast - lengthened and widened my fuck stick tremendously. It's just too bad Ashlyn wasn't actually a psychologist in real life. Then, she'd be able to read my mind and know all of the dirty things I was thinking about her - and all of the good things I was thinking about this movie.

From a DVD perspective, the video, on the whole is fine. The audio's a little low but acceptable. The DVD's also chock full of "extras," a few of which I viewed for the first time. I had a few problems with the multiple angles but it was probably unique to my disc.
