I see horny people...but I don't see a script! 3.75 out of 5.00 - Film: 3 Extras: 2 Video: 5 Audio: 5 - 9/21/2000
Mickey G. stars as Dr. Dick Harden, a psychologist trying to help Vicca with her problem: she sees dead people. Not just dead people, but dead people who cannot pass on to the next life until they are able to fulfill the sexual fantasy that they had when they were still living, but for one reason or another, were never able to live out. That's the premise for The 69th Sense, which is adult film's answer to the mainstream blockbuster The Sixth Sense. Unfortunately, this parody doesn't live up to its potential and turns out to be just another average porn movie with a lot of sex, but not a lot of interesting stuff in between the erotic action.

The movie opens with Dr. Harden and his wife (played by Taylor St. Claire) coming home from a dinner at which Mickey has received an award for his psychology work. Taylor says she is going to give her husband something special tonight, and Mickey immediately hopes that it is anal sex. But it seems like his wife is not into that (bummer!), and he has to settle for plain, old ordinary sex. Of course, sex with Taylor is anything but ordinary, and she doesn't even make it upstairs to the bedroom as the two go at it on the stairs. The stairs, by the way, are not carpeted, but hard wood, and I couldn't help noticing how uncomfortable the actors seemed during this opening scene. At one point, Taylor's leg slips while she is getting it doggy style and I immediately thought "Oh No! They're going down the stairs the hard way!" Fortunately, she is able to recover, but you can just see Mickey trying to get it over with when he has his back to the stairs and Taylor is atop him reverse cowgirl style. These types of scenes are the best argument for adult stars receiving hazard pay. It does end nicely, though, with a hot facial to Taylor's waiting lips. Nicely for us, that is...Mickey grabs his heart and falls to the floor with a heart attack. Was it the great sex...or those damn stairs?!

Next, we are introduced to Jenny, Vicca's character, who we soon find out has been given the gift (or curse?) of seeing dead horny people. The first one she comes across is Ian Daniels, who takes Vicca on top of the kitchen table which, by the way, is also made of very hard and uncomfortable looking wood. Yes, it's another "Ouch, I bet it hurts to have sex there!" scene. After Ian is finished, Vicca hears a knock at the door and finds Mickey waiting for her. He has heard about her problem and wants to help out.

Vicca tells Mickey about the time she went to a house and met three people there. The three are Nick East, Renee LaRue and Envy. We learn how Nick has always wanted a threesome with two women, and since there just happen to be two women with him at the time, we know what is going to happen next. Actually, this turns out to be one of the more exciting couplings in the movie, which includes some hot tit fucking of Renee by Nick as Envy helps out by giving Mr. East a handjob between thrusts. When this scene is over, we find out that these people were dead as well and could not move on until they had lived out their fantasies.

After a reasonably hot scene between Charlie and Playgirl model Jonathan Simms, as well as a nice lesbian sequence between Vicca and Tara (one of the few "alive" people Vicca interacts with in this movie), we go back to Taylor, who reveals to us what really happened after Mickey's heart attack in the first scene (no, you don't get any points for guessing...like we couldn't see this plot twist coming down Broadway!) and mourns her loss by not only having hot sex with Evan Stone, but letting him give it to her anal...the one thing she denied her husband!

Back at Vicca's, Mickey explains to her what happened and how he can only resolve his current situation by living out his ultimate fantasy of having anal sex with a woman. At this point, most watchers will cry out (as I did myself) "If that's your biggest fantasy, then you deserve the fate you have received!" But Mickey does get a chance to live out his desires with Vicca, and all ends well for our main characters.

The video and audio on this DVD are of the high quality that comes with every issued VCA film. The features are not as impressive as other VCA titles, such as the recent Booby Trap, but they still provide cast bios, jump to your favorite scene, the usual photo gallery, internet information and a few trailers to keep you entertained.

The appeal of, or dissatisfaction with, this movie really hinges on what one looks for in their porn. If you like a lot of sex, with little story and not a bunch of long sequences in between the action, than this movie is for you...especially if the likes of Vicca and/or Taylor St. Claire turn you on. Where this movie fails is in not taking advantage of the material being used and giving us a great parody of a major Hollywood film. The 69th Sense is one of those pornos that will keep you aroused the first time through, but won't stay in your memory (and perhaps not even on your permanent DVD shelf) the way other VCA titles have in the past.

VCA has another masterpiece! 4.5 out of 5.00 - Film: 5 Extras: 4 Video: 4 Audio: 5 - 9/19/2000
Vicca and Envy star in a spoof of The Sixth Sense. Vicca's three scenes are hot as hell. VCA always comes out with great stuff. I loved this movie from the start!
