So far, I've been a pretty big fan of Clive McLean's
Barely Legal series. He definitely out performs the competition in terms of gathering a great looking cast for each outing. In that regard,
Barely Legal 4 is no exception, but unfortunately, this DVD doesn't quite live up to the quality of the past installments.
The action is pretty hot but there's nothing here that really breaks new ground, unless your counting the number of urination scenes. With the exception of Layla Jade's scene, the girls never really get into the action. For the most part they just lay back, get fucked, and take a load of cum on their face. I know they're young and inexperienced, but even the slightest bit of interest and involvement could make these scenes much hotter. However, where this title suffers the most is in the poor video to DVD transfer. At times, I couldn't believe how poor the image looked, but more on that later.
The first scene, featuring Adrianna Sage, is definitely the best in terms of picture quality. Adrianna is a dark skinned beauty with a young tight body. The scene begins as she pulls up to a secluded beach in an old pick-up truck. Wasting no time, she immediately removes her clothes and squats to take a piss...one of the more peculiar themes in this series. When her bladder is completely empty, she heads off to a rocky ledge overlooking the ocean so she can watch some surfers while she masturbates. In the choppy voice over she explains that she just turned 18 and really needs a good fucking. Her wish is fulfilled when two surfers come ashore and fuck her every way imaginable. Predictably, the scene culminates in a sweaty DP. When the first guy is ready to pop, he pulls out of her ass and moves into position for the facial. Obviously this wasn't planned or thought out very well because when he shoots his load, what doesn't hit Adrianna's face lands on his buddy below. This makes for a pretty funny spontaneous moment which is further covered in the behind the scenes featurette.
By the time the third scene rolls around the picture looks pretty bad, but fortunately the action heats up with a hot and nasty performance from Layla Jade and Billy D. Layla is a petite blonde (with a British accent) working as a waitress to help pay for school. She may not provide the best customer service, but her hot little body keeps the customers happy. After taking some shit from her boss, she goes off duty for a smoke. While she's on break....yeah, you got it, she has to take a piss. When she comes back, she starts showing her pussy to several customers. When her boss sees this, he tells the customers to take off because they're closing early. When the guests are gone, Billy D. bellies up to the lunch counter for a serving of young wet pussy. After some thorough pussy eating and finger prodding, Layla reciprocates with an enthusiastic blow job. Billy has a pretty huge cock so it isn't surprising that Layla has a hard time getting the whole thing in her tiny pussy, but after some priming, she takes the full length of Billy's rod. I didn't think it would happen, but Layla even takes it in the ass. In fact, she seems to have an easier time with anal than she did with vaginal. From a cowgirl position, she just plops down on Billy's big black dick and starts slamming her rump down. After some impressively deep anal, she takes a decent pop shot on her face. Layla is by no means the best looking girl on this disc, but she's the only one who performs with such intense enthusiasm that it makes this one of the hottest scenes in the series. Short of the monster sounds, this is a scene that could easily fit in one of Jake Steed's
Little White Chicks... productions.
Overall, I thought the movie was pretty average. As I mentioned before, most of the scenes lacked the intensity needed to make them truly hot. For example, the girl/girl scene featured two incredibly beautiful girls (see the cover), but they were wasted on a very tame scene shot in a couples friendly setup. There were even candles for crying out loud! In a way, the
Barely Legal series has a serious identity crisis. McLean revels in showing girls urinate, something I consider pretty hardcore, but often shies away from nasty hardcore sex scenes. This can be quite frustrating, but as long as he offers the temptation of young flesh, I'm sure he'll keep his audience coming back for more.
Regardless, I certainly hope that future DVD installments look better than this one. The video quality is simply unacceptable for a DVD, especially when compared side by side with earlier installments. In fact, the behind the scenes featurette looks much better than the actual feature. I'm used to the substandard audio and voice-overs, but I was really shocked to see such a blurry transfer. I've seen video tapes in EP mode that look better than this. What went wrong? Despite the technical inconstancies, I was impressed with the 10 minute behind the scenes featurette. The majority shows the difficulties the cast and crew had shooting the first scene on the beach. If you've ever wondered what happens behind the camera and between takes, this featurette provides a good glimpse. I found it incredibly interesting...even more than some of the sex scenes.

I first saw this movie (rented from the video store) in mixed company. The boy/girl scenes were nice, but the segment with two girls was one of the best I had ever seen.
One of the girls follows the other home from school. They are both Hungarian (which, for the women, made it seem extra special). They hit it off, and then make love very intimately. The girl named Sandy is very beautiful. There are some early shots peaking under her skirt. The girls kiss and eat each other wonderfully. This movie made me very hot.
The guy I was with wanted to buzz through the scene. Fortunately, I bought a copy of this movie for myself (after I discovered it on ADE a few months later). I've watched it numerous times since!

Barely Legal #4, through its excellent production values and the fun writing and directing of its creator, Clive McLean, again delivers fantastic young girl action and a girl/girl vignette that is one of the best of the early episodes and one of my personal all-time favorites.
There is great boy/girl action--a nice threesome and double penetration climax on the beach with a young wahine (island girl); a nice scene with a pretty young waitress screwing her boss, the short order cook, on the restaurant counter; a young patient losing her virginity to her doctor; even a nice segment depicting a younger sister's experimentation with prostitution, servicing Jon Dough as her "john" and catching his load in her mouth, which was hot. Sex with young girls has never been more excitingly portrayed.
The outstanding girl/girl love scene appears early in the movie. A young girl follows another home from school. They are both Hungarian and they share a light conversation switching back-and-forth from English to Hungarian (a nice touch). The "follower"--who looks a lot like Christina Aguilera (the teen pop star)--takes the lead and announces to the other, almost apologetically, that she'd "really like to kiss" her. The second girl assents, admitting that this would be her first time kissing another girl. Gentle exploratory pecks gradually become more passionate. Mouths roam more freely and take turns beautifully licking each other's breasts, and sensuously eating each other's pussies before returning to kiss affectionately as the girls embrace after climax. Watching the girls make love (and imagining one was Christina Aguilera) was hot.
The scene is deliciously photographed. The two girls are gorgeous together, and the powerful sense of discovery and trust is captured lovingly on screen. For its combination of lusciously clean cinematography, beautiful young actresses and sincere delivery of emotionality, this may be one of the best girl/girl scenes I've ever enjoyed.

Barely Legal #4. You'll be immensely satisfied.
