Wet and Wild 4.5 out of 5.00 - Film: 5 Extras: 4 Video: 5 Audio: 4 - 5/10/2002
I admit it. I was not really looking too forward to reviewing this disc - even though the sin-sational Jenna Haze is in it - because I thought I would get bored by the wall-to-wall lesbian scenes. I enjoy girl-girl scenes, and I never tire of seeing them in Andrew Blake movies like GIRLFRIENDS, yet there is always something inherently limiting about the concept. Most lesbian videos seem to concentrate solely on toys rather than passion, as if they were trying to imitate the fucking and sucking action inherent in any straight scene. However, director Clive McLean brings his sexual expertise from the incredibly popular BARELY LEGAL series and applies them here with considerable success. Hustler is clearly delivering what they're advertising, and I was caught up with this disc from first minute to the last.

As the title suggests, the theme of each encounter is filled with wetness (both external and within the women). The water may not always rise above room temperature, but the sex usually boils. What is most appealing about McLean's work is that despite the general routineness of girl-girl scenes, he manages to make the pairings seem fresh and exciting. His use of full body shots as well as close-ups gives us an intimacy not usually found in clumsier and more mechanical sapphic encounters. The opener bathtub segment with blondes Kylie Wild and Natasha is arresting from beginning to end. The action is leisurely paced and sensuous, so much so, that the final pussy bumping is almost unnecessary (but still entertaining to watch). The Jenna Haze affair attempts to thrown in a little plot, when she comes riding in on a horse and joins Cassandra in the shower. The set-up is unnecessary, an although Jenna is fantastic as always, I was not impressed with this showing as I thought I would be, despite the sexy way the two kiss as soon as she enters the shower.

Blonde Penelope and dark-haired Susanne make for a toothsome couple as they slowly masturbate in each other's presence before the kissing, caressing, massaging, licking, and fingering begins. It's a quiet and tender scene (filmed against a fire, no less) and slows down the pace before we get into a swimming threesome with Monique, Ember and Gabriella. The trio of babes should have allowed for different positioning and sexual combinations, but we get prolonged footage of two girls going at it at a time while the third often just watches and plays with herself. Two of the girls take a break by relieving themselves in the swimming pool. (I hope the owner has plenty of chlorine.) Then they pick up the pace again with another round of pussy licking, and the scene wraps it up with Ember peeing in the pool while the other two sit in the water nearby. It's not quite a golden shower, but it's probably as far as mainstream American porn is willing to go. For now.

Against a gorgeous ocean backdrop, Sandra Shine and Rita meet in a Jacuzzi, then make love in an outdoor shower, where most of the action is performed standing up. The finger fucking is especially well-done, as Rita uses her digits on Sandra in a slow, rhythmic style. These girls are expressive enough to fool even me into believing their orgasmic emotions.

Picture quality is excellent for this video, and the sound is fine. Music overdubs all the scenes, but it is never so loud or so intrusive that we don't hear the girls' moan and gasp naturally. As for the extras, we are given a Bonus Scene featuring Sunrise and Jesse, footage of which was already previewed during the opening credit montage, so I'm not sure why this scene was singled out as a "bonus." In fact, this segment has some well-directed sixty-nining going on, and actually deserves to be part of the main feature. It's my guess that this vignette was added to make up for the lack of significant extras on the disc, which includes a set of Previews, as Slide Show and a still ad for Hustler.com.

The menu design has a moving shower in the background, while Sandra and Rita occasionally blink at the viewer in an animated cycle; it's a simple, but appealing design and a nice touch to an excellent DVD. Sure, there are a lot of lesbian titles on the market, but there's always room for another, especially when it's from Hustler Video.

Shame on me for second-guessing the erotic value of this disc before actually watching it. HOT SHOWERS sizzles.

This was a pretty good all-girl film. Basically, it's just a bunch of unrelated sex scenes, with the common theme involving water. I usually go for videos where some kind of story holds everything together, but in this case, I still found this one to be enjoyable.

The girls were all young, in case that's important to you. They were all attractive. Most of them seemed not to have any kind of breast augmentation, which was a refreshing change of pace from what I'm used to seeing in most other videos.

Something I really enjoyed was that all the girls are completely nude throughout the entire video and not once did any toys come into play.

And finally, there was the, um, interesting pee scenes during the three-way in the pool that other reviewers have described.

Yep, I fell for the hype! I wish I went and rented this flick before shelling out my hard earned money for a tepid and boring DVD. I agree with one of the reviewers in that the performers are quite pretty with fantastic bodies, but the chemistry between them is lacking compared to the great Hot Showers 1 video.

What also ticks me off is the amount of "looping" the film has throughout. For those of you not familiar with this term, it is when you show a particular cut (scene) over and over again, not necessarily in the same sequence, interspersed throughout the scene. It just goes to show you that there wasn't enough good footage to fill up the entire DVD.

I will give okay marks to the first and last scenes. At least the actresses showed some interest with one another and there was more than 90 seconds of foreplay!

Do yourself a favor, go get Hot Showers 1 or the excellent DVD Exhibitionists by Andrew Blake - now these are how lesbo films are suppose to be made!

This is a good girl/girl video...but not a great one. Almost without exception, the scenes follow an identical formula: girl gets into shower with another girl, they eat each other out, finish. Frankly, after a while the monotony and lack of variety in the scenes got to me. I felt like I was just watching the same scene over and over.

Interestingly, each scene is chapter indexed so you can watch specific bits: "Foreplay," "Oral," "69," etc. The thing is, there is no foreplay in any of these scenes. There's about 90 seconds of kissing and nipple sucking before the girls are muff-diving. Porn directors shouldn't neglect the erotic tension of a good, long buildup including seduction and foreplay.

Now, having said that, I'll talk about what I did like. The girls are young, clean-shaven down below, and pretty. Again, it seems like every girl in porn these days needs a good spanking over this stupid tattoo craze, but hopefully this too shall pass. (There's nothing like seeing an absolutely perfect naked, wet female body scarred by a needless bit of cheesy trendy body art to make you realize how counter-productive those little cartoons are to the enhancement of beauty. Oh well, none of the girls in this video are too horribly scarred.) And it's all very nicely shot by Hustler veteran photographer Clive McLean. Too bad he has so little imagination. I wish he would come out with a non-gimmicky girl/girl series, instead of one tied so firmly to a single concept like sex in the shower. Perfectly dry girls fucking in a bed or on a kitchen counter or in a car or in an office or anywhere at all are hot, too. I think McLean ought to take a few tips from such awesome girl/girl titles as Babes Illustrated #10 and #11 for his future efforts.

On the whole, a good video for lesbian fans, taken in small doses.

By the way, I am giving the DVD a below-average features rating because of the infuriating fact, which I'm surprised no one has brought up, that the first thing you see when the disc starts playing are two ads that you cannot turn off. (One of them is for some pills that are supposed to make your dick longer. Uh-huh.) You have to watch them before the menu screen comes up. It's okay to put ads and promos on a DVD if you absolutely have to, but it's way uncool to force a viewer to watch them. Spam is bad enough on the internet, I don't want it on my DVDs.

This is a superb all-girl film. It has some very attractive girls genuinely enjoying each other's bodies, and contains lots of real kissing and sustained pussy sucking. Let's hope these titles keep coming.

Wow! Why did it take so long for Hustler to do a girl/girl series?! Clive McLean does a great job on this one. It has excellent camera work, never spending to much time on one angle, except when nessasry during close-ups. I've heard that some people don't like long close-ups, well I do - when there is something to see. In Hot Showers 2 When the action starts to heat up (as it does in every scene) and the close-ups start, they are cut between sexy wider shots of the girls and the close-ups making them never seem too long.

I really liked the features on this DVD. First, there is an extra scene that is just as good as any of the other scenes. But the thing I liked most is the segments are broken up into chapters, such as "Foreplay", "Oral", "Finger" and "Climax". This allows you to jump straight into the action, if that is what you want.

All the girls are pretty, especially young knockout Jenna Haze. They are all young and most fairly new to adult films. This is a great adult movie, one in a fantastic adult series.

A friend of mine told me about this video. She said the girls were very cute, and she wasn't kidding. I especially liked the scene at the end with Jesse and Sunrise, who are both very pretty. And the first scene with Kylie and Natasha was also very nice.

The pool shot with one girl peeing into the water was dumb. (What's up with that?)

The story for each episode was also a little weak, but the beauty of the women more than made up for it. Overall, a very nice film of girls making love together with plenty of wet kissing.

I had never heard of Clive McLean before seeing this movie. I do hope, though, that he comes out with more videos like this one.

A "must have" DVD 5 out of 5.00 - Film: 5 Extras: 5 Video: 5 Audio: 5 - 2/25/2002
What I like best about Hot Showers 2 is the absence of "dead footage." By "dead footage" I mean those apparently obligatory scenes of dildos, vibrators and other assorted pieces of plastic. Why a producer would put two beautiful young women together and then spend half of his time filming close ups of toys escapes me, but this is usually the case with "all girl" videos. Thankfully, Clive Mclean has put the camera focus back on the girls! There is still plenty of "penetration" in Hot Showers 2, only the actresses are using their tongues and fingers.

The girls in Hot Showers 2 do not disappoint. Most of them appear to be either 18 or 19 years old and are completely "clean shaven" down below. Although we don't see the feverish hunger that those two Goth chicks had for each other in Hot Showers 1, the performances are good and the actresses seem to enjoy themselves.

Also missing from Hot Showers 2 is the nice build up to a sex scene that was in many of the vignettes from the first one. With one exception, the girls go from meeting each other to sex in about 90 seconds. This delivers a lot of "bang for the buck", but cheats the viewer of the excitement from anticipation. Part of the appeal of a girl/girl video is watching the women seduce each other, kiss, and fondle - foreplay is not necessarily a waste of footage.

Nevertheless, despite a few drawbacks, Hot Showers 2 is on my "Must have DVDs for 2002" list. The picture quality of the DVD is quite good, so the sex scenes have a lot of visual impact. There is a very brief urination scene at the end, but this one mistake is no reason to condemn the whole video. Other than that, you will probably never have touse the fast forward button during Hot Showers 2. It's very clearly a high quality production, and certainly better than the vast majority of girl/girl DVDs being produced today.
