I'm usually very excited when a new
Fantasex title comes out from VCA...traditionally (other than the occasional classic release), these DVDs have offered some high quality stuff. So with the latest
Fantasex release,
Double O Blonde, I fully expected to be highly entertained since this title featured not only VCA's most beautiful contract girl, Tawny Roberts, but it also promised to be a spoof of the James Bond movies, which I love.
Sadly, the feature portion of
Double O Blonde never seems to get off the ground. It's a very average movie that wants to be both humorous and say some important things about the government's desire to curb pornography - but I found the film to be mostly confusing and difficult to follow.
The story opens pleasantly enough with Dayton Rains playing a secret agent who finds herself in a sexual coupling with TJ Cummings. She goes down on his cock, and then the two wind up fucking on a staircase, with Dayton getting it in the standing doggy, cowgirl and missionary positions before TJ pops his load onto her sexy leather boots.
After the opening sex scene, we are thrown into the opening credits, which spoof the credits of the James Bond movies - and it seems at this point in the film that we're going to be in for a fun ride. Sadly, what follows is pretty average porn...nothing that would cause me to give this film a "horrible" rating, but nothing that made me want to go back and watch any of the action again.
The two most entertaining bits of
Double O Blonde are surprisingly not even sex scenes. There's a cute bit of dialogue shortly after Tawny's character is introduced with Frank Bukkwyd, who is playing "Z", a "Q"-like character who is showing Tawny all the new gadgets that she can use. The second fun bit in the movie comes when Jim Holliday and Rob Spallone make cameos, and Jim acts as the voice of morality - spouting out the reasons why we should fight to defend our freedom of speech with dialogue that only Jim Holliday could come up with.
As for the sex, only Tawny's segments are worth watching, in this reviewer's opinion. Her first scene is a solo masturbation sequence, which is followed a few minutes later by a lesbian coupling in a sex club with Bunny Luv, which may qualify as the film's best overall sexual segment. She also has a pairing with Cheyne Collins at the end of the film, but I didn't find her straight sex scene nearly as appealing as the previous two.
Other sex scenes in the movie include one between Fujiko Kano and Steve Hatcher; a foursome with Cherie, Tiffany Mason, Chris Evans and Anthony Hardware; and a threesome with Sabrine Maui, Wanda Curtis and Chris Cannon.
While the film may not hold up to repeat viewings, the
Fantasex on this title is pretty well-done, although I did notice a few "glitches" in the action. Tawny is one of the most beautiful women to do interactive sex, and all the major positions and sexual actions are here for your viewing enjoyment - including a nice anal section. There are a number of different cumshots as well to view, including a facial, two pop shots on Tawny's chest, a pussy and ass shot from the anal position (which is in the missionary position), and a doggy style cumshot to Tawny's ass - and unlike many other interactive DVDs, all the cumshots here are real.
But like the feature itself, which seemed to suffer from some bad edits and inconsistent audio depending on the scene, the
Fantasex portion of the DVD also has a few minor problems. For starters, the location chosen by the director of these segments casts pretty heavy shadows due to the lighting, and I noticed in the doggy position that you can actually see the shadows of (presumed) crewmembers walking back and forth during the action. Secondly, and perhaps most annoyingly, when you choose a cumshot, the footage doesn't stay on the same angle, but instead jumps back and forth between both a front and side angle - even though you haven't selected an angle change on your remote. Why this was chosen for the cumshots portion of the
Fantasex is odd, since I don't believe VCA has ever done this before on prior
Fantasex titles.
Other bonus features on this DVD include a Virtual Date segment (which is basically Tawny commenting on what she likes and dislikes); the option to watch the movie with just the sex scenes; the option to incorporate the
Fantasex as part of the feature; chapter selection; a cast list; and previews for the films
Being With Juli Ashton and
Touch Me.
Assuming you're a fan of Tawny Roberts,
Double O Blonde will probably contain enough to entertain you. However, I should point out that of all the
Fantasex releases from VCA, this is one of the weakest - and if you're new to
Fantasex, I would start with one of the other
Fantasex titles, such as
Chloe Cums First or
Edge Play, before picking up this title, since those represent more flawless versions of VCA's interactive technology.
