Michael Stefano's FRESH NEW FACES is about as generic as one might expect from the never-ending and unyielding glut of pseudo-amateur gonzo porn. Predictably, viewers get, five scenes of brightly lit, roving camera, wall-to-wall hardcore with very few surprises. This video delivers nothing more than what has been previously and continuously been offered in recent series like POP THAT CHERRY, YOUNG PINK, or any other variation of BARELY LEGAL. Mind you, however, that even though that long-running Hustler series has had its ups and downs, at least director Clive McClean tries to create a sense of mood and situation during the sucking and fucking vignettes. Director Stefano, however, seems content on just turning on the camera - and after brief introductions - having the girls and guys dive right into the action.
This is not a bad thing, necessarily; this style and direction have been the tried and true (if not tired) formula for almost every gonzo production. FRESH FACES, however, insists on following the trend without adding anything original or creative to the mix, which is disappointing for a new studio like Platinum X Pictures.
And yet, having bitched about this disc from the outset, I must admit that FRESH FACES held my attention from beginning to end. I enjoyed the disc despite my aversion to the completely routine and unoriginal. But hey, when a porno works on you, what can you do but think with your dick? The unspecified male talent includes Stefano, Brandon Iron, Dick Delaware and Brian Pumper - all of whom do their job well and remain the envy of lesser sexual mortals such as myself.
Anika is sandwiched between two guys for some contortionist-positioned fucking, which is visually impressive to say the least. Her leg is lifted high in the air while she gets banged in a standing doggy position, and there are other segments where she almost does the split on two chairs while assuming the cowgirl position. Though not a glamorous looking girl, Anika is pleasingly cute and has a nice, natural body. Her sexual gymnastics don't include anal (so you can very well forget about any double penetration), but she takes a cum facial like a pro.
For some true eye-candy, audiences will be delighted to see covergirl Nautica, an African-American beauty who is introduced shaking her tight little ass in front of the camera while wearing a sky blue outfit. It would have been nice to see a little interracial action, but instead, she gets pounded by Brain Pumper in a non-anal encounter. I'm not necessarily complaining, but it's always a good thing to see some diversity and integration in porn. Nautica is a bit close-lipped when Brain spills his seed all over her face, and she gamely licks his dick after he's drained of spunk.
Blonde Faith Grant and brunette Gisselle do a little lesbian show, which could have been made better if they sucked face a bit more. Naturally, a guy jumps into the mix and soon he's sawing away at Gisselle quim, pausing only occasionally to let Faith get in a few licks. Both girls get anal-yzed at various moments during all the straight fucking, and even share a cum-facial with some rather timid cum-swapping.
Dark-haired Selena Silver is another newbie whose smiling demeanor is one of her most attractive traits. Looks can be deceiving, however, and this unassuming brunette seems to enjoy a vigorous butt banging. There are some medium shots of her freshly fucked colon, which at times appears to be dilated to the size of a coffee can. This girl isn't afraid to deep throat her guy straight out her ass, either, but she seems to be less willing to taste cum and lets it spill out of her mouth and down her chin. Still, it's a hot little scene and very wankable.
Red head Nadia Nyce receives a moderate dose of rough sex, with her mouth, twat and ass getting jack hammered non-stop by Mr. Stefano. During the sex, he lightly slaps her breasts and butt, and sticks four fingers into her sugar walls while thumbing her ass, but it's all in the name of good, dirty, consensual fun. When he cums in her mouth, Stefano makes sure most of his seed makes its way down her throat where she swallows it whole.
Video quality, while a little bright and flaring at times, is very good as is the score-less audio. DVD extras include your run-of-the-mill "making of" featurette, photo gallery, previews and website ad, but the "Cum Shot Recap" and video "Photo Shoot" of the girls are nice touches.
While breaking no new ground, FRESH FACES is a fine little fuck flick which will get you off good and hard. I'm keeping my review copy and recommending this title to all my friends.
