Sequels are a common thing in porn, perhaps even more common that in mainstream movies - but I must admit, if there was one sequel I was looking forward to, it was the sequel to Antonio Passolini's
The Ozporns. The first movie was an entertaining spoof of the popular MTV show, and even though that program has started to slip in the ratings, I was still anxious to take a look at
The Ozporns Go To Hell.
Sadly, however, there doesn't seem to be as much humor (and even less story) the second time around. Tina Tyler's character (once again in a non-sex performance) has been reduced to little more than a cameo, while Baz (who still does a terrific job mimicking Ozzy Ozbourne) only has a couple of moments where he's really allowed to be wacky in front of the camera (the rest of the time he's kind of annoying).
At the opening of the movie it's revealed that daughter Fiona Ozporn (Tawny Roberts) has made the public claim that she's a lesbian, and her parents are so upset that Ozzy decides to take the family on vacation in an RV to try to see America and hopefully convince his daughter that she is straight. The RV crashes (Ozzy is driving, so this was bound to happen) and the family gets stranded in a backwater town where the residents are just as odd as they are.
Since the story doesn't provide much in the way of viewing entertainment, the movie must rely on it's sex - which, while okay, isn't anything spectacular. The film opens with a girl/girl scene between Tawny and Jessica Drake, and then the next scene doesn't happen until the Ozporns get stranded in the backwater town, where son John Ozporn (Cheyne Collins) flirts with maid Cameron and convinces her to make out with him. There's an odd scene where Rick Roberts goes into a diner and Nikita Denise and Angel Long appear out of thin air in front of him (is this a science fiction movie too?), followed by one of the movie's better scenes where Tawny gives up her lesbianism and gets it on with auto mechanic Barrett Blade. There's a scene between Sindee Coxx and Baz which might have been okay to watch (there's a nice bit where Baz starts to use a condom and Sindee yanks it away) if not for the fact that these two already had a scene in the first movie; a so-so (assuming you like heavily tattooed guys and goth girls) coupling between Rachel Rotten and Rob Rotten; and a scene-ending threesome with Tawny, Eric Masterson and Rick Roberts.
One of the plus sides to this DVD is in the extras department, as VCA has provided viewers with one of their more jam-packed titles of the year. Fans will get a feature length commentary with Antonio Passolini; multiple angles; slide shows; a behind the scenes featurette; outtakes from the shoot; trailers; a "wall to wall" sex option (allowing you to view only the sex scenes); and even the entire musical soundtrack of the movie. The transfer here is also quite impressive, with top-notch video and above-average audio.
I really like these characters, and would love to see them in another - better written - sequel. But I'll give credit for one thing: at least the title of this movie is an accurate description of the quality! Okay...it's not quite that bad, but it is a disappointment.
