One of the most highly anticipated adult releases of all-time, the famous sexual rendezvous between
The Simple Life's Paris Hilton and her then-boyfriend Rick Saloman is finally available on DVD. And while the quality isn't up to that of a studio release, Red Light District has done a very nice job with the video and audio transfer of the material - giving fans what may very well be the best celebrity sex tape made to date.
Rick is on-hand to introduce each of the four sexual segments on this 63-minute disc (don't worry, Red Light has supplemented the short running time with four great bonus scenes from their catalog), and the first is the night vision footage that was very green and grainy when it appeared as a download on the Internet. Here, however, the footage has been changed to simple black and white, and much of the harsh grain has been removed from the picture...giving us a pretty good look at what was going on. We are told by Rick that Paris was only 19 at the time this was filmed, and things begin with the camera in Paris' hands as she films Rick's cock. Soon, Rick has taken control of the videotaping, and has Paris on her back and taking it missionary style. We get a pretty good look at the penetration, and Paris even rubs her clit while she is being fucked.
Setting the camera across the room on either a piece of furniture or perhaps a tripod, the action continues on the bed, with Rick screwing Paris doggy style from a side view, followed by some very enjoyable reverse cowgirl (once again, we get a good shot of the penetration), and then back to doggy - this time with both performers facing toward the camera, so we really can't see Rick's cock sliding in and out of her. Okay, fine: Unless someone finds home video of the now-legal Olsen Twins getting nasty with a guy or two, "1 Night In Paris" will likely remain the largest selling porn video of all time for good reason. Paris Hilton is incredibly gorgeous and why wouldn't we want to see that body and that face making love?
THE HUGE PLUSES- Paris, age nineteen. Unrehearsed and at her most intimate, Hilton seems genuinely tender and kind, not a spoiled, whiny brat as might be expected of anyone as young as she that's worth $150 million smackers. What's more, she really seems to be in love with Rick Salamon, and it shows. The final scene of the film alone, (the well-done blowjob sequence), is worth the cash. Paris does put her magnificent self into her lovemaking throughout the video, but don't look for the kind of screamy overacting done by most starlets in porn today. Remember: This video was done with her full cooperation as a turn-on for her boyfriend. She never intended it to see the light of day, so any pleasure that you see or hear is the real McCoy. Paris indeed does seem like a truly nice person, despite the fact that her lover in this amateur classic is a married man.
THE MINUSES- Rick Salomon, while shooting scenes apart from the actual lovemaking itself, appears to have the emotional maturity and tact of a boorish twelve-year-old. He badgers Hilton repeatedly while she is dressing, trying to get her to "show her pussy", and spouts other crudities on camera that clearly embarrass this well-mannered heiress. He is the stereotypical "bad boy", the essence of everything that would cause a viewer to ask, "Paris, what could you possibly love about this jerk?" His ego is monstrous, displayed conspicuously as he briefly introduces each scene.
THE SHOTS- Many viewers will likely get off on the black and white nightvision shots that begin the film. I found them grainy and a bit surreal. Parts here and there, (a super closeup of Paris' shaved labia riding Rick's curved dong and her black and white closeup blowjob), were very well done, however. The color sequences were much better, and the extra footage of other new porn starlets that bonus this two disc set overall make it a nice package indeed. The bonus footage amounts to infomercial vignettes for other Red Light District titles, but who cares? They're well done.
THE BOTTOM LINE- Yeah, buy it -- for Paris, and for history, but don't let Rick date your sister, or anyone you know!
