I've always been a fan of Suze Randall's work. During the days when the easiest access to adult material was by sneaking glances at the so-called men's magazines at your local Quickie Mart, Miss Randall's beautifully composed and seductively laid out photographs of porn video stars as Ginger Lynn, Jamie Summers and Nikki Dial could be found everywhere, including VHS box covers. When I first logged on to the internet, her scanned images were posted and traded widely throughout cyberspace (illegally, I'm afraid), and I eagerly bought up her long out of print video documentaries such as SUZE RANDALL'S SUPER SEXY VOL. 1 AND 2 and became a member of her private website, just so I could see the best adult had to offer as captured by adult's most popular photographer.
At long last, Miss Randall has seen fit to take her eye for the gorgeous and the glamorous and shoot what she sees with a video camera. Though I have yet to review recent Empire Bestseller UNDRESSED & OVERSEXED, I did take an eager look at LADIES IN LUST and it was like falling in lust all over again. If you've been exposed to nothing but copycat gonzo titles day in and day out, then the look and feel of this Randall-directed flick will be a sight for sore eyes. Even though the movie is shot on video, there is very little of the garishness or fish-eyed distortion usually associated with low quality porn productions. The women are dressed up to the nines in sexy costumes and tasteful settings, and the result is like watching a Suze Randall magazine pictorial coming to life. Those who might hesitate picking up her videos for fear of encountering the same kind of frustrating coyness of a recent Andrew Blake title can rest assured that the hardcore remains uncompromised.
Presented as a series of five vignettes, there isn't much of a narrative or theme to what we're watching, other than the fact that the ladies are indeed in lust. The simplicity of the scenes may remind one of the kind of short, self-contained scenes found in the BARELY LEGAL or SPECS APPEAL titles. Anais Alexander, a leggy wet dream of a woman who could pass for a supermodel, or at the very least, a Playboy centerfold, is dressed up in a short skirt, blue high heels and a blouse which is quickly shed for Toni Ribas. He is dressed in a casual business suit, and their affair takes place in an office that actually looks like an office. While there is nothing particularly lewd about their coupling (it's standard mutual oral then multi-positioned fucking with condoms), the lack of a music soundtrack and their seemingly genuine affection for each other make this scene nevertheless highly arousing. There's just something about watching Anais' perfect body getting fucked cowgirl style on a desk which is irresistible.
Ander Page, who has been a favorite of mine for the past couple of years and who looks unbelievable in a fishnet dress and tinted hair, invites lucky Nacho Vidal to her room for a little late night (I assume it's night) recreation. Despite following directly behind her, she gets far enough ahead of him to undress seductively in her room, as well as to recline on a chair and masturbate for our pleasure. Eventually, Mr. Vidal helps her out with his own hand and the two then get it on, with no use of condoms but no anal either. Finally, Nacho cums on her face and in her mouth, but Anders beauty remains unaffected.
Gisselle is a dark-haired looker whose interracial encounter with a guy I couldn't identify (despite some quick on-line research) is simple and to the point. She is a masseuse offering her services in a steam room, and then she gives him a happy ending (which ends up all over her lips and tongue) preceded by a hot session of oral sex and straight fucking.
And still more beauty is to be found with blonde Jana Cova who is trying on different types of lingerie when Sandra Shine walks in and goes for a fitting herself. This scene is pure eye-candy, and is sweeter than a block of chocolate fudge dusted with powdered sugar and topped off with whip cream. The girls kiss deeply and explicitly, whenever they're not eating each other out and apply a white dildo on each other's private regions. True lesbian enthusiasts may find their work perfunctory and even clinical, but that didn't matter one bit to me.
We get to Lanny Barby's scene in mid-action while she's in the middle of sucking off two guys in a bathroom stall. Raincoaters will enjoy what they see here, because along with all the vigorous cock sucking, we also get some hard anal action (though the presence of butt lube is a little too obvious in certain shots) along with a minute or two of double penetration and a double facial. It's not enough to make one forget your average Platinum X Pictures or Anabolic title, but it is a surprise to see just how raw Suze can get.
DVD extras include a chance to see Jana Cova, Sandra Shine and Lanny Barby do a seductive strip tease, as well as a brief interview with Lanny herself. The website information, DVD credits and trailers are nothing special, but fans should take a look at the Photo Gallery to get a sampling of Miss Randall's camera work. Technically, this DVD looks and sounds great, though I did encounter a glitch or two playing this disc on two different computers using two different DVD playback programs. On occasion, the video would stutter and jump, but that's about it. For that reason, a point was deducted off the "video" rating.
LADIES IN LUST is just the kind of video I've been looking for in order to fill that gap between amateur gonzo productions and higher end, couples-oriented blue movie features. You can be damn sure I'm going to be picking up more of Miss Randall's video work in the future.
