Celeste (a frequent visitor to
Jack's Playground and the lead character in
Repo Girl) makes her directorial debut in
The Story Of J, a sort of modern-day updating of the classic (?) 1975 French erotica film,
The Story of O in which a young woman is taken by her lover to a retreat where she is trained in the ways of bondage and submission.
Jesse Jane gets the lead role here, and a choice was made to tell the story completely through visuals. Not only is there no dialogue in the movie, but the viewer will not hear the "moans and groans" from the sexual action, either. That puts this release in somewhat of the same territory as Digital Playground's
Island Fever releases - so potential buyers will have a good gauge on what to expect in this release.
This is yet another film that Digital Playground has shot using HD cameras, and the anamorphic transfer here looks stunning. The quality ranks right up with some of the best I've seen on mainstream releases, with a sharpness and clarity that you just won't find on most other adult DVDs. The audio (which mostly comprises of a "classical"-type soundtrack) is also impressive, and presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital.
The movie is broken down into a number of segments, each of them titled to give a hint of the type of action we're about to witness (i.e. "Grooming", "Discipline", "Restraint", etc.). Jesse Jane plays some part in all of the movie's scenes - sometimes just an observer, but usually involved in the action in some way, shape or form.
The opening scene has Jesse arriving at the sexual retreat with her boyfriend/lover, who is played by Mick Blue. Viewers get to see a nice coupling between the two, which begins with Mick removing Jesse's outer garments by using a knife. Holding her left leg up, he penetrates her from behind, and the facial blast of cum that he shoots on her at scene's end is one of the best in the entire movie.
The middle part of
The Story Of J is filled with mostly lesbian encounters between Jesse and some of the other girls in the complex. Most of these are slow and seductive, rather than rough - and even when Jesse is put into a corner and whipped with a cat o' nine tails by redhead Justine, there's something quite erotic about it that keeps the viewer aroused and makes it appealing to watch.
The only boy/girl scene that Jesse doesn't participate in is between Jassie and Ben English. She rides him reverse cowgirl on a couch, and then turns onto her side so they can continue in the spoon position. After some missionary, the scene ends with a nice pop-shot, where Jassie holds out a glass so Ben can cum both on her face and into the glass she is holding. Sadly though, we don't get to see Jassie drink what Ben manages to unload into the glass.
Jesse's next boy/girl segment has her teaming up with Eric Masterson, who is apparently the leader of this sexual community. Penetration in this scene takes place in both the missionary and reverse cowgirl positions, and the scene concludes with a cumshot that lands on Jesse's tongue and face.
Following her encounter with Eric, Jesse pairs with Mick Blue one more time for a blowjob-only scene that ends with yet another facial for Jesse. This is followed by a somewhat surreal scene between Jesse and the other girls in the movie, which concludes with Jesse seeing her dead body in a chalk outline. I'm going to assume that the meaning the viewer is supposed to take from this is that the "old" Jesse has died and she has been reborn into this new sexual creature...but who knows?
Extras on the DVD are somewhat on the slim side for a major adult release - giving viewers only a photo gallery, a generous number of trailers and a text biography for star Jesse Jane.
Because of the amount of screen time Jesse Jane gets in this film, the fact that she's on the receiving end of three facials, and because the video quality is so stunning (Jesse has perhaps never looked better in a movie),
The Story Of J is recommended for fans' collections. It's not for those who love gonzo stuff with lots of raunchy sex - but if you're a fan of the type of material shot by Andrew Blake, Michael Ninn and even Digital Playground's Joone,
The Story Of J is something you'll want to pick up.
