Canadian-born Mike Quasar is a formidable figure in the adult industry, having spent more than two decades behind the camera. After spending his formative years growing up in Toronto, where he spent much of his time pursuing his dream of becoming a drummer for a heavy metal band, he picked up and moved his life to Los Angeles in 1989 where he began his career in the industry just five years later.
Quasar started out as a director, filming scenes for a number of studios as he learned the ins-and-outs of the industry, all the while under the tutelage of Jean-Pierre Ferrand, whom he credits as being the person whom taught him everything he knows. Quasar states his career was most shaped by author Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000 Hours of Theory, in the book Outliers, which postulates that if you do something long enough, you will eventually become good at it.
During his tenure as a director, Quasar shot most of his films with studios Zero Tolerance and 3rd Degree, while occasionally filming for other major industry studios such as Wicked Pictures. Over the course of his career, Quasar became known for creating "some of the finest lesbian erotica out there," after discovering the genre was his forte while shooting his first girl-girl scene, which he claims was the first time he ever "found himself turned on while shooting."
In 2004, a decade into his career, Quasar adopted the persona "Quasarman" and began appearing as a performer in several films. Since his performance debut, he has appeared in over a dozen titles as an actor.
Although he doesn't find much of it with his busy schedule, his free time is spent simply enjoying a well-deserved day off, and taking his beloved dogs to the park.
