Life Before Porn

Before joining the XXX business, Katie attended junior college, worked as a waitress, a clerk and even the manager of a pet store. Katie initially entered the industry as a means to pay-off her sizable bail and plea bargain due to some legal troubles in 2000. Afterwards, while on bail, Morgan was watching a lot of pornography and she felt inspired to try it herself. Seizing the moment, she knew one of her friends was actually friends with a legit performer. Katie cold-called the star and the star hooked her up with an agent.

Career

Katie entered the business with the idea that she'd only make a few movies. However, she found that she really enjoyed her time and she ended up making over 270 adult titles between 2001-2009. Her most recognizable and famous role might be from her first mainstream appearance in the Kevin Smith comedy, Zak and Miri Make a Porno co -starring Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.She co-hosted The Wanker Show on an internet radio station, and from 2011- 2013 she hosted her own podcast called Having Sex, With Katie Morgan.

Return to Adult Work

During Katie's hiatus from filming she worked the club circuit, dancing as a featured performer around the country. While this was very exciting work, Katie and her husband decided the traveling was a bit much for them and they agreed that Katie was ready to return to making hardcore content. In 2015, Katie returned to porn when she signed with Nexxxtlevel Talent agency. Not only were her fans excited about her return, but Katie opened her repertoire and added anal scenes to her roster.

In her HBO documentary, Katie describes having chosen the moniker Morgan in reference to the alcoholic beverage Captain Morgan's Rum and the first name Katie in reference to the first name of Gone with the Wind's Scarlett O'Hara.

In the same documentary, Katie claimed a near genius-level IQ of 165 on an online quiz. Although unsubstantiated, she did perform very well on The Howard Stern Show when she participated in a general knowledge trivia game.

Katie was born into a conservative Christian family and she didn't attend a public high school; rather, her parents home-schooled her, allowing her to finish high school at age 16. Katie's father was a Christian pastor.

Katie made a cameo appearance in a 2008 episode of the popular HBO series Entourage.
