Debi Diamond's Biography

Prior to Porn

Debi Diamond grew up in California and was a self proclaimed tomboy. She attended acting school and tried breaking into Hollywood through a series of small roles on shows like The Dukes of Hazard, Fall Guy, and Knight Rider. She never gained much footing, however, claiming that she was constantly being hit on and nobody took her seriously. At 18 years old she became the personal assistant to producer Bob Evans who then introduced her to photographer Helmut Newton. Newton featured Diamond in several of his volumes of photography in the 80's. And when her acting career in mainstream media didn't take off, she turned to adult films instead.

A Wanton Woman

Diamond's first performance in an adult film was in the 1980 film Suze's Centerfolds. She quickly built a reputation for her willingness to perform nearly any sexual act. And while she is primarily known for her late 80's and early 90's movies, she first entered porn just as the 'Golden Age' was ending, appearing in films such as Her Wicked Ways (1983). Regardless of her early years in the industry, her reputation is based on her insatiable appearances toward the end of the decade when she became known as the wildest and nastiest porn actress in the business.

Beside her many movie roles, Debi also modeled for hardcore magazines. She lacked inhibitions and was often photographed performing anal sex or double penetrations. Photographer Helmut Newton was infatuated with Diamond, shooting multiple sets with her and allowing her the freedom to do whatever she pleased during a shoot. Her lack of inhibitions also led her to several bi-sexual movie roles performing alongside Marc Wallice and various gay actors.

Retirement, Comeback, and Escorting

After intense pressure from family, Diamond quit the business. She married a porn actor and became a legal secretary before moving to Las Vegas and working as a beverage waitress. But she missed the excitement of performing and in 1989, Diamond re-entered the industry. She came back to find that the video revolution had drastically changed the porn industry. Despite her reservations about the many changes in the biz, Diamond was once again purely uninhibited and insatiable. She became known as one of porn's anal queens and re-acquired her former reputation for her willingness to do just about anything on set.

Debi Diamond had a career that spanned 12 years, produced over 600 hardcore titles, and garnered several industry awards, including her induction into the XRCO and the AVN Halls of Fame. This wanton woman took the industry by storm, turned heads with her uninhibited performances, and is unquestionably one of the biggest porn stars to ever work in adult entertainment.
